Rick Pitino in The Barn tonight?

Tubby left us in a better spot than he found us? Can we agree on that?

Completely disregard the path and completely disregard your expectations (we agree on all the other stuff, I'm no Tubby honk.)

In that reference, he was a giant, for use in the quote.

Very low bar.

Whaaat? The Gophers never had the high-end season I was hoping for under him, but a fraud???

Tubby:
Hired for 2+ million a yr
Brought in some fairly regarded recruits at first - name recognition.
Complained publicly about lack of facilities constantly.
Threw players under the bus constantly.
Never finished above 500 in conference.
Collapsed pretty much every year in Feb.
Won one NCAA game against a very disinterested UCLA team.
"Players didn't improve".........Ariel McDonald's statement yesterday...
Still hasn't figured out Northwestern's zone.
Too lazy to recruit.
Couldn't find a pg.
Never stopped all the Tubby going to _____school rumors that were probably started by him or his agent.
Pretty much fell asleep on the bench during games.
For all this we paid him about 15 million.
Didn't take Teague very long to figure it out.

Trust in Teague. If Richard is successful here, I have no doubt that Teague will come up with a package that's good enough to put us in contention to keep him around.

wrong. Dad said he told him he could die at Minnesota

LOL, are you joking? Rick’s quote about Richard staying at Louisville has nothing to do with Minnesota. Richard didn’t leave Louisville for Minnesota. Rick was talking about how he discussed with Richard the option to serve as “coach in waiting” at Louisville and eventually take over for him. It was the “easier” path. Rick’s proud that his son didn’t take the easier path. That doesn’t have anything to do with how he feels about Minnesota. As to the “could die” at Minnesota quote, it’s possible that this is Richard’s last job and I hope that he stays 30 years and wins multiple national championships, but if he has success here he’s going to have a lot of opportunities to move. Maybe he’s a different type of cat than his Dad or maybe he’s seen from his Dad’s moving around that there are advantages to staying put, but I doubt that we’ll ever hear that he’s fired his agent because he has no interest in those other opportunities. “I can’t believe these ADs keep calling, my Dad told everybody at halftime of the South Dakota State game back in 2013 that I could die here.”
