Richard Pitino:
• Keep it snappy, I have the Louisville/Kentucky game to watch.
• It starts with DeAndre…we didn't really run a play today and we scored 108 points. Our wings and our bigs are starting to understand if they run, DeAndre is going to get it to them.
• We're playing well. I know the competition isn't as great as we'd hope it would be. Wilmington knew exactly what we're going to do, I worked with them, and it really didn't matter. We played great offensive bball.
• On Mathieu's injury - He's fine, drama, just likes attention (joking). He said he can't feel his hand, but what is that? I hope. I didn't even ask.
• On their lead - give them credit, they had a good offensive game plan. It's comforting when your offense is really clicking. Our offense has been really comforting, we just now need to get some stops. We weren't really panicking.
• Joey King - he played 28 minutes, that's pretty good, no his minutes haven't changed.
• We were getting steals and TO's without being defensively crazy. Rebounding was not very good. Kevin told me before the game that he likes his team, they just can't shoot…and then they hit 10 3's. I don't think he was playing mind games with me.
• I don't think we're over passing, there are a lot of guys that trust, if you make the pass, he'll make it. It's clicking pretty good right now. It's fun to watch.
• Rebounding - if there are any changes to be made, we're going to try them. It's concerning. We're going to play against Purdue that's good at rebounding. We'll watch film and continue to adjust on it.
• On Mo Walker - he's just put in the work, lost the weight, it's hard for guys to lose 75 pounds. He deserves a lot of credit, he's gotten so much better. He barely played in the 2nd half. He put in the work, credit to him. Confidence, speed, a lot of it is he's just working hard on individuals, he's always pushing himself to get better. There are times when he sees big picture that he's getting better. We work at it every day, we're committed to getting guys better individually, we dedicate a lot of time to it.
• On Morris - The last 2 days, he was really good in practice, he was talking, he was engaged. We're about to go on the road, we need everybody to be emotionally invested in the team, you don't have to be Elliott, but you have to show it a little bit. He doesn't take bad shots anymore. He's got the talent.

DeAndre Mathieu
On his injury - Just hit my funny bone and his fingers went to sleep
Every game will be like this in the big 10, the 1st half, just need to keep pushing
I had 2 good days in practice, making the right plays
I feel like I'm playing a lot better, not worrying about my scoring.*
I'm really really excited for Purdue.*
Defense was key during that stretch (when they went on a run)

Andre
His ankle is 100%
On his turf toe - It still bothers me, but it's fine, happened in the Seattle game
Morris is a game changer
On quietly scoring and having solid games - I think it's less pressure to do as well because everyone is producing this year.*

But someone said DeMath had a spine injury caused by U2.

Had to chuckle at this comment by Coach Pitino...

we need everybody to be emotionally invested in the team, you don't have to be Elliott, but you have to show it a little bit.

I like how he sends a message to his players without throwing them under the bus.

After watching the game today, Morris seems to be the key to future wins in the conference play. If he continues to play as he did today, I see a few more w's in the BT. If not - it will boil down to Dre and Math scoring a lot - I don't feel all that comfortable with that scenario. It was good to see Mo actually have 'lift-off' on a couple slams - it's good to know he now has that ability. Regarding Math - his assists to turnover ratio is off the charts - he will have to keep that up if this team has a chance to compete and do well over the next 3 months. Let's hope so - fun team to watch. Thank God we didn't need Josh Martin in order for this team to play well. Also, Mr Mason is a major asset. Great recruit .
