Royston came around

He thought at one time he wanted to be a Badger as well. There is no one more solidly against the Badgers as Royston is. I hope they allow him year 6, I like his style and his disdain for Bielema.

I don't think I want a badger fan on the team. Also, how excited would we be to get him if Wisconsin doesn't even think highly enough of him to even offer. I think we can do better than a qb from Mankato...what is that nine man? (sarcasm)

In all seriousness, Mankato West is an excellent 4A program. Three state titles since '98 and has probably been in the State quarters at least that many more times. For all the talk about Glencoe (3A) and Hutchinson (now a very average 4A) on this board, I'm surprised West isn't cited more.

To be fair, there hasn't been much of a D-1 pipeline out of Mankato since I've been paying attention. There was a fullback that went to Minnesota in '99 or 2000 - forget his name - and they sent a kid to NDSU last year who hasn't really played. Lots of D-II level kids, though.

Craig Dahl from Mankato East is a starting safety in the NFL (Rams). Without looking it up, I think he went to NDSU.

Eric Stenzel is the FB you are talking about. I think he was a Mankato West kid.
