Hey, I could have googled it, but that wouldn't have given me the opportunity to try to make a point.
One thing to consider for the Big 3. If they go somewhere else and are wildly successful, will be viewed highly and will be appreciated by that team and community. If Tubby or his replacement gets some non-Mn native to come here because we missed that Big 3 player, and this non-native Gopher is wildly successful, like many before him, we will adopt this young man and be forever appreciative.
All of that is obvious and a no-brainer.
But what if they go elsewhere and end up being a flop or just average?! And what of the non-native that comes here and is a flop or just average?! Will we forever love this guy, will that outstate school forever love that Mn native who flopped for them?!
Realistically?! Probably no in both situations. It's just the hard reality of the world. People love winners and well, we tend to forget about the flops or those who were just average.
But, what if one of the Big 3 does come here, and flops or is just average?! What are the chances that he'll STILL be treated well by the state of Minnesota?!
Better than the chances he'd be treated well by the state of North Carolina or Kentucky if he went to either of those schools and flopped or was just average.
Or is my opinion skewed because I would like to see 1 or all of the Big 3 to come here?! I am biased, absolutely, but not sure my bias changes what I believe to be just a simple reality in the world?!
