Reusse says Kill #1 whiner in last 60 years

Reusse's stuff gets so old. We have some of the laziest and worst sports writers in the country

Nah, Reusse doesn't like the unpredictable vagaries of college football.

How many sports writers in this town are former bloggers?

So, no examples then? Got it.

If you want part of Pat's story his usual points are that Jerry didn't want to play the North Carolina game, and also didn't like that Norwood scheduled TCU without asking him.

Considering the state of the team when those occurred (and you'd think the AD would talk to the coach about scheduling)... I don't have a problem with either.

For some reason, Reusse has never liked Kill.

Actually, if you go back to when Kill was hired, Reusse said some nice things about him on his radio show. But, that was when a lot of people were going "Jerry Who" and complaining that Maturi was not able to hire a "big-time" coach. Once the fans came around and started supporting Kill, that's when Reusse started taking shots at him.

Reusse's thing is to always take the opposite position of the fans. He gauges his success by the # of people who are mad at him.

I'll take your word for it about the nice things. The only thing I remember from the time Kill was hired that Reusse has liked is how JK pronounces the word "tour" (both JK & Reusse say terr)

injuries happen to all teams, 16 of 22 starters last week were either jr or sen and depth issues has to to do with recruiting. Regarding taking time to build a team-- Without looking up the exact totals I am thinking at least half of the Big Ten teams have coaches newer than Kill- including Mich, Neb, WI, OSU and Penn State which are all better than us. As for 2016 we have no idea if any of them will work out at this point as we are still waiting on JJ and Berkley to be the impact players that made them the tops of their classes

Again, which of the statements is not true?

And you're seriously comparing the job of building quality depth at MN (coming off perhaps the darkest days in program history -- which is really saying something) to new coaches taking over historic powers? Do me a favor and look up the national recruiting rankings for those programs over the past 5-7 years...compare it to Minnesota...then get back to me.

It's pretty clear your mind is made up on this, and to argue would be futile.

The biggest whiner(s)....? Hey Pat (I know you read this message board)...please take some time to listen to yourself...you're probably one of the biggest whiners on radio. Other than Mike Max who tops the whiner list. Both of you have that extremely whiny tone. ;)

Mike Grimm is one of the biggest whiners of all, love his play by play except for his constant ref whining. It's worse for bouncy ball season.

Bullshat, outrageous, and way out of line. Mike Max is NOT a whiner.

He's a self-centered, dim witted jackass. Had to be said..

The only thing I know about Mike Max is that ... it's like someone teleported him out of the 1920s or 40s or something....

Not to say that is necessarily bad, just seems that way....

Can't touch Ray as a whiner. You could turn on the radio and know if the Gophers were behind almost immediately by his tone and ref comments. But I miss him even though I like Grimm.

Agree with both points. He is a great play by play guy who complains about the refs way too much. He is a master at it too, he'll subtly insert "He's bumped, no call" very quickly and effortlessly into his call.

I have heard from a very reliable source (no BS) that Mike Max's pick up line goes something like this, "Hi. I'm Mike Max from channel 4". My info is a couple years old, but still thought I would share.

I'm at the point now where I cannot listen to a Gopher BB game on the radio. Grimm and Tollackson literally spend as much time complaining about the officiating as they do actually describing the game.

He had me at channel 4....

There is one reliable whiner in the twin cities over the past 40 years and his name ain't Jerry Kill.

It's fish basket.

Name one coach at the D1 college or pro level Reusse has liked. I can't think of one.

Him not liking coaches is nothing new.
