Reusse Says Devoe Suspension Attitude Related

I am assuming, maybe i'm reading this incorrectly though, that Devoe may have been a negative in the sense Cory wanted to go out on his own and do his own thing and not be in his brothers "shadow" I also will never believe Cory considered Minnesota "because his brother went there", IMO, Cory liked Minnesota for the same reasons Devoe did, not because Devoe did. Great campus, great city, great coach, great tradition, etc.

I don't think Mo Walker liked Minnesota solely because Devoe/Cory were interested in it either, but because, it is in fact, a great school to play basketball at.

That's how I would "read" JG's comments.

Rarely do brothers attend the same school.

pretty much everybody is sort of right, Devoe has multiple issues involving behavior, attitude, and academics. It's not a new problem but everything sort of came together recently including a confrontation with Tubby that resulted in this suspension. Regarding cory, devoe was far from an asset in his recruitment, actually the opposite.

With all the rumors swirling, it figured to be a combination. Any sense as to when he'll be back?

Thanks for the insight JG; and unlike the others, I don't read that being a "playing your brother's shadow" type of thing.

If Devoe had a confrontation with Tubby that has been "building" according to JohnnyGopher; I think Cory's decision had a lot more to do with his brother's opinion as opposed to them both having Joseph on the back of their jerseys.

Maybe I'm reading too far into it, but that's what I get from JG's post.

Cory

C. Joseph went to Texas because it is a better program and more high profile. Lets just be honest.

Cory was going to get to run the show for a top 10 program that plays in prime time and has the glitz/glamour - right or wrong. Texas has never won the chip but they are always a top 10 team with high end talent and have many players going pro...

Thats just reality.

IF I were Cory Joseph Villanova and Texas both would be out the Gophers. It hurts to say that but lets be real..

I second what Roland said. I don't think Cory ever really seriously considered coming here, never. It was all window dressing.

Hopefully a couple years down the road (after adding some tournament success to Tubby's brand name), Minnesota will be one of those "it" programs, but we aren't that right now. Texas is, no matter how much some believe the 'Horns consistently underachieve.

Always ?

Texas always a top ten team ??? I hate to nit-pick... well not really. :)

While, yes they are lightyears ahead of us the last ten years, it is not factual to say they are always a top ten team.

I arbitrarily looked at the final AP Poll of each season and found them to be in the top ten 3 of the ten years. A pretty darn good record IMHO, but not always in the top ten.
