I don't know these guys personal/job histories, but I am really leary of hiring coaches that are not from the midwest. I fear that the U would simply be a stepping stone for them to get back to where they really want to be.

It seems like all of the successful Big Ten Coaches have been midwestern guys who know they like it here.

I understand that fear, but my fear is that any midwestern guys who would be a big enough splash as a hire know too much about the Big Ten and Minnesota to want to put themselves in that situation. I think there is a sentiment around the midwest and the Big Ten that you can't win at Minnesota.
