Reusse: Greatest comedy website in the TC is Gopherhole

More yuks per paragraph. I love Gopherhole. Gopherhole is hysterical and they all now hate Stanford and want the worst for Reid Travis. It's the best place for comedy.

Rand: Best place for comedy not perspective.

Not me. I'm very disappointed that Reid did not commit to Minnesota, but I don't hate Stanford and I wish Reid well.

I didn't know this guy was still around.

People need to stop obsessing about Reusse and Souhan. They are who they are, and they say what they say FWIW.

Long term I think sports columnists are going to be replaced by more analytical blogger types. The papers are already starting to go that direction. The modern fan wants more meat and less mashed potato.

I think its sad that in this day and age that people come to a Golden Gopher fan site seem shocked that Gopher fans would react negatively to a local basketball player choosing a different school. What would you expect to find its a Gopher Fan site? I think some fans go overboard but why would I want some other program to be better than the one I follow? It's being a fan I want my team to be as good as it can.

Long time member. Constantly checking in for good info about the players, program & other's opinions... I was actively monitoring the board yesterday at the time of young Mr. Travis' announcement. Like most, I was severely disappointed. I found myself totally caught up with reading all of the reactions. All I could think was Holy Sh!t. Have some class people. Many tried to inject reason into the thread, but the majority continued to hammer on the kid for one reason or another, and then justify such statements...... It was rather humorous..... And sad. So, you can rip the writer all you want, but recognize the truth in what he wrote. Someone who has never been here before reads his article and decides to check out the site. If they read the thread about the Stanford selection they will most likely be in agreement with his claim.

If we want to grow the participation & share our love for Golden Gopher basketball..... Remember - your reputation precedes you. I fully understand the function of message boards being a platform for everyone to state their opinion..... And this is mine.

Maybe we define majority differently, but at the time of the announcement and shortly afterward there were about 1,500 people viewing this board and thread and maybe 10 people were passionately showing their disappointment at the outcome and displeasure in the way it was handled. Hard to see that as a majority other than a vocal majority as most, are like you, just sitting on your hands wishing the loud fans in front of you would sit down and stop cheering so they could see the game from their seats.

As you say.... Um, No.
You know nothing about me or how I act at the games. If you took the time to ask, I would tell you I am more likely to be the one standing & cheering for my team. I don't sit on my hands - never have. When I am there I make sure I am involved in making a great home court advantage for our Gophers.

Maybe I needed to say the majority of the posts, not the users fit the profile portrayed. Again, as I stated - many level headed users tried to inject reason to no avail. Loud fans are one thing immature embarrassing fans are another.

He has a point. Obviously it isn't all of Gopherhole. Those who are hating Stanford and wishing bad on Travis are pathetic.

It's pathetic that you are confusing hate with people not caring about RT. Why should we care about him anymore?

"Fat Pat is nothing but a crabby drunk... Can't wait till he's gone."

This is exactly the type of childish name-calling that disrespects the University and the rest of us posters. Can't we elevate this site to mature discussions of Gopher sports?

Were you following last night's Stanford game against BYU because you're a mormon?

Some people just like basketball. It was the only game on as I was going to be so I watched about 10 minutes worth myself.

I couldn't care less about Tampa Bay or Miami but I watched about half the MNF game last night. Doesn't mean I all of a sudden care about the teams.

Try to keep up.

If you post about Stanford looking like crap in a thread about Reid Travis going to Stanford at 10:45 p.m. Then when Stanford loses and you post "Enjoy your time at Stanford, Reid." at 12:25 a.m. Then follow that with a post proclaiming to the world you don't care about Reid Travis at 12:28 a.m. Guess what, you care very deeply about Reid Travis.

Make sense?

(Did you forget to sign in as Stocker08 when you replied in this and the R Travis threads?)

"Mature" discussions of a game involving matching shorts, sneakers, orange spheres, and teenagers? Best o' luck with that.
