More yuks per paragraph. I love Gopherhole. Gopherhole is hysterical and they all now hate Stanford and want the worst for Reid Travis. It's the best place for comedy.

Why do people do this all the time? Over exaggerate things all the time. This is not even close to being true.
 

He has a point. Obviously it isn't all of Gopherhole. Those who are hating Stanford and wishing bad on Travis are pathetic.
 



Pat is right about the fudgehole on occasion. Unlike his own newspaper though at least most people who post here are without an agenda.

Well I dont know if that is totally true. Plenty of agendas on GH, IMO...
 

Funny or not, the GH is a far better read than the same old dribble he's been producing the last 20 years IMO.
 




Gopherhole has gone downhill since Parski left.:rolleyes:
 

Back in the 90's, the GH was a much tighter bond between Gopher fans that focused all of our energy towards making fun of the pig farmers and red skunks. Now it seems a lot of that energy is spent belittling our own fan base. Kind of sad really but it does indeed make for an interesting (and frustrating) read.

Agreed. I stopped reading PR decades ago. If folks on GH did not mention him I would never know he was still alive.

As for everybody on GH hating Stanford, that is a completely ridiculous statement.

Reusse works for two companies who's revenue are smaller than they were when he started there. 'Nuff said.
 

question for rand since we you're reading this. how about you sign up for an account and answer this question. if you don't like this site, would you rather we stopped linking articles and would you like gh to stop tweeting and crediting your writers? they tag your writers in so many tweets i have to imagine you appreciate that, but if its easier for us all to just link kfan and pipress items i'm sure we can.
 

I really wish we'd stop talking about Reusse and Souhan. They're irrelevant, talentless jokes, and the only reason they're still employed is because they can stir fanbases up with idiotic and inflammatory statements. If that tool was removed, their toolbox would be empty. So stop listening to them, stop reading them, stop talking about them, and they'll go away. And the sooner the better. The bloggers at Daily Gopher, From the Barn, and Down With Goldy are a thousand times better.

So many people like to over-exaggerate things like this, especially the media.

About a month ago, Dubay was going off about when he tweeted something like how good Indiana's offense was and how nice it would be to have an offense like that. Then he said that Gopher fans "were jumping all over him". By what he said (they rambled about it for a good 5+ minutes), you'd think there were a bunch of people responding to him. I checked out his twitter page later on for the conversation he had and there were only three Gopher fans who disagreed with his tweet.

Talk about making a story out of absolutely nothing.

The part about "all hating Stanford" is patently false. I don't think I've seen anything posted here that would be evidence of "hatred" of Stanford. I've seen plenty of posters acknowledge that Stanford is a great school. As for hoping the worst for Reid Travis? Maybe a few posts have risen to the level where you could get the impression that the poster hopes the worst for Reid, but it's certainly a very small percentage of those who have commented. I don't understand why Minnesota (and its fans) has to be different that anyplace else. On the vast majority of message boards, the reaction would have been much stronger if this exact scenario played out involving their school.

Pat was down on Kill from the start, pronounced he would be a failure this year even if they won 7-8 games. Wonder if he wants to keep rolling with that?

I don't think many are down on Reid or his choice. I can't blame him, he didn't fake his interest in the home town team and decided otherwise was right for him.

Long time member. Constantly checking in for good info about the players, program & other's opinions... I was actively monitoring the board yesterday at the time of young Mr. Travis' announcement. Like most, I was severely disappointed. I found myself totally caught up with reading all of the reactions. All I could think was Holy Sh!t. Have some class people. Many tried to inject reason into the thread, but the majority continued to hammer on the kid for one reason or another, and then justify such statements...... It was rather humorous..... And sad. So, you can rip the writer all you want, but recognize the truth in what he wrote. Someone who has never been here before reads his article and decides to check out the site. If they read the thread about the Stanford selection they will most likely be in agreement with his claim.

If we want to grow the participation & share our love for Golden Gopher basketball..... Remember - your reputation precedes you. I fully understand the function of message boards being a platform for everyone to state their opinion..... And this is mine.

Um, no. It might seem like it was a majority, but there were multiple posts by not that many people who just wouldn't give it up. Certainly not going to reread each post, but I'll bet the majority either reacted by simply stating their disappointment or accepting the fact or by trying to reason with the over the top ones. Regardless, there's something unprofessional about the way Reusse lumps all GH'ers together just to agitate and get a reaction: unprofessional, as well as indicative of some real insecurities.

Reusse and Shooter come on the gopher hole to get information. I have read things they have picked up directly from the gopher hole.

Agreed. His style is to agitate & many do not like his methods + I did acknowledge those attempting to bring reason to those going crazy, But you missed my point; "Someone who has never been here before reads his article and decides to check out the site. I guess I shouldn't have expected them to take note anyway- I'm sure they don't give a crap what the perception of them is anyway. Hiding behind a moniker & keyboard gives them cover.

Their incredible irrationality allowed this great site to be stereotyped & slammed. Maybe not rightfully so, but there are enough posts in the mentioned thread where an outsider could easily agree with him.
