Report of U Making $16 Thousand in Beer Sales is False.

These costs seem inflated... Just my $0.02

I keep on wondering if they are doing this as part of a strategy to expand beer sales when the Vikings begin playing here in 2014. At that time I suspect the Vikings are going to want to see beer available at many more places than it is now. The Gophers could use this to argue for expanding the number of sale locations for them also. Their profit should considerably better then.

In order to be in a position to do this I suspect that they really wanted to make sure that there were no problems this past fall. That is why you saw the rather large additional cost for security and other expenses. If everything goes well this fall with the beer sales expect to see changes in 2014.

It will be interesting how to see how all this will play out with the different agendas from the various stakeholders.

The U could expand alcohol sales any time it wanted to. The U wanted to have alcohol only in the suites.

I am not sure if I would state it exactly like that. It was the legislature who told them if they want to sell alcohol at the bank then you need to make it available to all. There is a lot more to this issue than meets the eye. I believe with the Vikings playing at TCF in 2014 and the U finishing up their 2 year "trial" period with beer sales this fall it is very likely that changes will be made to how alcohol will be sold in the fall of 2014. It will be interesting theater.

What in the recent history of this athletic department leads you to believe they are strategic thinkers?

Get Aramark out of the beer garden. Let the Goalline Club take it over and profits go directly to the football program.

A perfect example of hy the gov. can't run anything. Spent 26 yrs. in that bus, and would love to show them how to make a dollar.

BS they lost money. If they had a "loss" it was only through "funny money" accounting by the anti-having-fun-in life-idiots who are trying push their agenda. I like the op-ed in todays Edition of Pravda who suggested we just turn the beer sales over to the kegger frats and their will be no question of profits.
