Forget what happened on the field. The biggest thing is that we
are now existing in an entirely NEW REALITY:

The Gophers of Minnesota are now, once again, an on-campus,
outdoors football team. They are NO LONGER a Dome team playing
in what is at best a neutral site.

The Gophers are now an on-campus, outdoor football team.

The Gophers are now an on-campus, outdoor football team.

Click your heels three times and repeat that three times. You
will quickly be whisked away from the debacle at the Dome tonight.

Remember, Gopher football......if you ever want to go looking
for your heart's desire, you don't have to look any farther than
YOUR OWN BACKYARD!

The Ghosts of the Brickhouse are now finally at rest. They
have returned to their peaceful bliss. The 55-0 exorcism is
a thing of the past.

And all was right with the world.

Our long national nightmare is over

'Ol Jerry Ford (a Big 10 guy himself) said it best in 1974.

It is a day of liberation and jubilee. I have visions of Andy
Dufrane emerging from the mud and raising his hands to the
sky after escaping Shawshank.

Since 1982, we have been held captive. In every imaginable
way, the decision to take the Gophers to the Dome has been
an undisputed disaster. It is a miracle, a miracle, that our
Gophers have gone to the bowls that they have over the
past 26 seasons.

This Court does not arrive at its conclusion lightly. On one hand, the gopher fans have submitted a document alleging a stadium curse, dull atmosphere, and withholding of a college atmosphere. On the other hand, the University voluntarily elected to leave campus, and that vacancy was subsequently upheld by the destruction of Memorial Stadium.

However, the extensive record clearly demonstrates to this Court that the gopher football team's move off campus was predicated upon an appeal to emotion rather than reason, and hype rather than substance.

To permit this move to stand which has as its sole foundation appeals to unfounded hype is to commit a violation of college football as heinous as the crimes for which the gophers were tried and convicted.

I hereby order gopher football released from the dome henceforth from this day forward.

This Court is adjourned.
