Help me understand how a FB player can play 4 out of 12/13 games and not burn a redshirt and a BB player can't play in a single game.

The "why" behind the difference is that football changed their redshirt rule and basketball didn't. How much clearer can Gemini (Google's AI assistant) be?!?
