Nubin's on his way - just needs 5 more interceptions to tie Winfield's 2019 record of 7 on the season; 3 more and he'll be tied for second place. I'm thinking that's the only one that has a chance of getting broken this year.

... and just a reminder that Troy Stoudemire holds the national record for most career kickoff return yards - in his career he accumulated 2 miles and 285 feet in return yards (think about that distance the next time you're out jogging). With the rule changes, that's a record that will most likely never be broken.

The record is...

2007Adam Weber449

So AK will need to average about 33 pass attempts the rest of the season (including the bowl game) to break Weber's record.
He only needs to average 30 a game to break that and he had 44 week one (assuming the full 15 games on our championship run)

With Brew's defenses, Stoudemire had ample opportunities to return kicks!

What the record for completions? Assume it is Weber in that same year...but do you know that number?

Here's Chip the week before that IWOA game, where he kicked a field goal at the end to bring the jug back home. A couple of great weeks for him. (BTW, what's with the announcer, must have been a Michigan guy...).

Per STrib:

• Gophers safety Tyler Nubin, who intercepted two passes against Nebraska, entered Saturday with 10 career interceptions, which is tied for sixth in program history. He is two interceptions away from matching the record of 12, set by Jeff Wright(1968-70) and tied by Sean Lumpkin (1988-91).

Go Gophers!!
