My question to the idiots over in Madison; When you dorks get your degree (or IF) you even get your degree in advanced drinking; how many of you end up working in the Twin Citie's area? Go Gophers!!!

Why didn't you just post this over there? You are worse than they are.

Let them have their little circle-jerks over there. They can talk all they want, but at the end of the day, they currently and forever will have zero national championships.

I still don't understand why some Gopher fans spend so much time over there and some Wisconsin fans spend so much time over here. Who cares what they think.

This reminds me of my family gatherings during the holidays. I have a cousin who is pretty big Gopher fan and another cousin who defected to the dark side and went to Madison. We talk Big Ten football over several libations and my Gopher fan cousin always plays the "We have 6 National titles" card. At that point, my uncle (a Princeton Grad) chimes in and reminds us that Princeton has 28 National titles so we can all STFU.

This. Who cares what they are talking about? I went over there one time just to look around and there was a Gopher fan over there being a complete d-bag. Rupert something I think, anyway he was making a complete ass of himself.

I just took my first and last trip over to Buckyville. It wasn't pretty and Rupert didn't help much.

Their love for BB is strange.

Speaking of Becky fans.. My best friend in junior high school went to Madison and was a cheerleader for a few years for Becky. Yesterday he posted a picture of him running their flag across the end zone. I commented on how much puke was in my mouth at the sight of that picture. I'll copy and paste his exact response:
I know that it's always tough to lose to your rival so often. Minnesota's day will come again, and I will have to taste that same nasty taste! Until then GO BADGERS!!!

The classiest response I have EVER gotten from a Wisky fan. Reminds me why we were such close friends.

I still want the Gophs to bury that team, though.

I'm assuming that he's mostly joking, but if he's serious, it's an idiotic argument (especially for an Ivy Leaguer) on several levels. First of all, for the majority of the 19th century, there were basically 3-4 teams that even existed, and for the 1890s-early 20th century, only that many competing at the highest level. It was generally Princeton or Yale, or both, almost every year for about 3 decades. In terms of innovation, prestige, recruiting ability, etc. those two schools were Alabama and USC, and everyone else (the few that did exist) was New Mexico St. And there were no polling organizations that anyone took seriously until 1936 when the AP began their poll. Every national championship Minnesota has won has taken place in an era during which nearly all (if not all) of the current BCS AQ schools were in existence, functional, and competitive. That's the really funny thing about Becky and Hogeye trolls discrediting Minnesota's national titles - their teams were in existence, fully functional, and had every opportunity to win them the same as Minnesota did. But Minnesota won 6, while Iowa, Wisconsin (and Purdue) all won zero. Post-1936 (i.e., when the media and general public really began to take college football seriously) Minnesota has 4, Iowa 0, Wisconsin 0, Purdue 0, and Princeton 0. The only even minor recognition received by any Ivy League school were obscure organizations giving Cornell a "national title" in 1939 and Princeton a "national title" in 1950. People (especially Hogeye and Becky trolls) like to pretend that college football was disorganized and chaotic and Minnesota's titles don't count, but that is almost as far from the truth as possible.

Yes, he was totally kidding, but we knew what he was getting at.

Again, the old selective reading rears an ugly head. Show me where I posted over there. They were responding to a topic I had over here, but thanks for hanging me out to dry.

He wasn't talking about the current time, he was talking about one of the previous 100+ times where you have made all Gopher fans look like complete asshats over there. And a badger fan can always identify another asshat, even if he is wearing other colors

Gopherguy, it really is none of your business. And for your information the only time I've a response is when they've taken a shot at the Gopher program. And they do take plenty of shots at the Gophers. FYI , I have not responded to said Gopher topics for quite some time. So stick a sock in it
Pal

That's almost verbatim for what that Badger guy that just got banned used to say.

It is the " way" you respond. There are Badger fans over here that have not been booted. I would
suggest you look at his response. And by the way Maximus, who made you judge, jury, and hangman?

I spent a little time over on a badger board. I think winning has brought out some of their worst fans. Too bad for them.

IMO we represent the gophs as much as the football team does. Stay cool, stay classy.

I say welcome to all the badger fans that want to come over here and be reasonable.

Why do you want to witness 24/7 dead-deer-f**k-feast? I don't. Just google dead deer.
It is none of our business to tell them what they can do or should do. It is their domain. I've no problem with that. Vice versa Badger fans should not be here to promote their agendas.

No Badger fan has ever requested you should be banned or belittled you for having such an insignificant life that you spend time on their board?

No they haven't. I banter, but I don't throw f-bombs, etc. when I respond. Insignificant life?, I'm laughing at that. Son, you have no idea. Tell me what you've accomplished in life other than ragging on a elder Gopher fan? I would really like to know what gives you the balls to take potshots at somebody you don't know jack sh- t about.

You sir, have the manners of a jackanape! Furthermore, your vile impugnation of Princeton's championships does you no honor. No honor, I say! If you object to the discount of a title Minnesota was awarded before losing in their bowl game (the name of which escapes me at the moment), then how can you also devalue the championships won by Old Nassau for no other reason than they were earned before "the media and general public really began to take college football seriously." I anticipate an apology forthwith.

I'm old and I've never been much for smack talk, but why would anyone go to anyone else's message board to drop a literary t*rd or two? It took me a long time to grow up (some would argue I still haven't), but I just think p*ssing all over each other on anonymous message boards is fairly goofy.

I come down fairly hard on Badger fans who come over here to dick around. I don't blame their fans for doing the same (or for writing whatever they want about the Gophers). Heck, it's their board.

This is exactly how I feel about this whole mess.

Same with me, Bob. Badger fans can call me/us any lowdown name they want, and my position is simply, "Been called a lot worse names by a lot better people."

And you sir, have been schooled, I daresay! Assail his manners if you must, but not his contentions. Your anticipation notwithstanding, an apology on this board will not likely come forthwith.
