RB Zeke Bates commits!

Not on the field he wasn't. Nobody thinks Mo is faster than Mar'keise.
This is why i said who cares about the 40 rather than the shuttle or cone drill for a rb (or really any player tbh)

And regardless, he was a stud last year for the Bucs.

Derrick Henry ran a 4.52 and 4.54 at his pro day. Pretty sure he's done ok hitting home runs in the NFL. Bijan Robinson a 4.46 (bring him up for size comp at 5'11", 215#) and hit home runs at Texas and with the Falcons now. A 4.52 is plenty of speed to hit home runs but it's more about how quickly you get through the hole and accelerate than the top end (hence why I'd care a lot more what his shuttle time is than his 40)
Derrick Henry is also 6'3 250 lbs

Derrick Henry is also 6'3 250 lbs
Hence the additional height comp with bijan. He should still be able to be caught from behind if he’s so “slow” (he’s not). Stop getting married to 40 times for RBs like they decide their ability to hit home runs.

In case anyone would like to see some data. Here are the top NFL rushers in terms of 50-yard TD runs vs 40 yard dash times. Seems to be almost all have under 4.5 40 times (Terrell Davis is the big outlier). I sorted as 50 yard TDs per 1000 carries to normalize the data to how long the rusher's career was. Also, holy cow with Bo Jackson....such a bummer his career was cut short. Viking's Robert Smith ranks very well here. I did my best looking up 40 times...these are what came up via Google. Top 10 on here are all 4.4 or lower.

Regardless of 40

Technically, yes.

But could Mo do that?

Be honest.
No, but could Bucky take on 320 carries in a season? Both great college backs, but they have different strengths. I’d say Mo was the tougher runner, not that Bucky was a slouch for his size. Bucky definitely was quicker and more agile.

Agree they were both great college backs. Mo was one of the greats, for sure.

My point (not that anyone asked me to make one) was that if you run a 4.5+ 40 and want to really succeed (read: NFL), then you better bring something else. Such as being 6' 3" and 250. ...or having agility like Bucky.

That's why Bucky is a budding star in the NFL and Mo is out.
