Interesting article from the Badger Wire (sorry). Not written by AI. Information is current and accurate. You can quibble with the rankings, but one thing is clear: the B1G is LOADED with quality QBs. Not sure I'd put Luke Altmeyer at No. 2. Or that I'd rank Billy Edwards as high (but this is a Badger writer). Lindsay ranked low, because of no history. Most teams will be starting an experienced QB, as we did last year. Be interesting to revisit this list after the season.

I looked at the list and went there’s not a “game breaker” who can take over a game in that entire list

That is a pretty underwhelming list of QBs.

Only 4 of 18 projected starting QBs in the Big Ten are with the team they joined out of high school. All other QBs have transferred at least once.

Drake Lindsey (Minnesota)
Bryce Underwood (Michigan)
Dylan Raiola (Nebraska)
Drew Allar (Penn State)

Two of those players were the #1 overall recruit in their class, all 3 except Lindsey were 5 stars.

Gophers are the ONLY B1G team likely to start a non-5 star they recruited and developed. Old school.

The yearly musical chairs at QB is really something. The transfer portal for football is not nearly as insane as it is for basketball with the exception of the QB position.

It finally progressed to the point of what amounted to a trade the other day between UCLA and Tennessee. I predict we'll see actual trades start popping up as the decade goes on.

Per the article:

16. Drake Lindsey

2024 Stats: Three games, four of five passing, 50 yards, 10 yards per attempt, one touchdown, zero interceptions, one carry, six rushing yards

Recruiting Profile: Three-star high school recruit, No. 56 quarterback in 2024 class

Analysis: As we wrote during the first edition of these rankings in late January, Lindsey will have a hard time replicating Max Brosmer's 2024 production of 2,828 yards, 18 touchdowns and six interceptions. However, he may need to do so for Minnesota to continue its annual eight-win pace. P.J. Fleck and his staff hope Lindsey becomes the next Tanner Morgan, a multi-year starter with a strong winning quotient.

Go Gophers!!
