Well when we beat Louisville next year, that will help Richard emerge from his father's shadow.
No problem with Rick showing up & supporting his kid. Wouldn't mind a lot less theatrics so the spotlight can shine more on his kid. How about trying to lay low, maybe something more along the lines of Austin Hollins' dad, also a former coach?
Just a preference.

It was a year 1 story line. We'll see much less of it moving forward.
Just about everything I've ever heard or read from Lionel in regards to Austin and college basketball has made him look like a complete ****** and unsupportive father. I realize GopherJake already mentioned this.
You're not alone. The father & son thing was cute for awhile this season, but it's time for the media and everyone else to turn the page. It's time to let Richard sink or swim on his own without referencing his famous father at every turn. Elder Pitino needs to let that happen, too. When you have a child, give them wings, set them free, and let them fly, right?
I really can't believe this. We have a high-potential coach with a hall-of-fame dad, and people are complaining about too much exposure. I guess Minnesota fans will complain about everything. Maybe we should limit our number of wins next year so we don't over expose the program. [end sarcasm]
I saw Lionel at three games at Williams this year which means that he was probably there for more. There was a shot of him in the stands at MSG during the NIT. I suspect that he was quite supportive of the person to whom it matters the most.
