Love the part about Malik shaving points at the end. You can tell Rick is a proud father.

I love how Rick is just awkwardly standing off to the side. He looks so out of place.

I love his "Malik, quit shaving points" comment at the very end....lol

Would have been much more interesting if his brother would have been in there instead of the old man.

In a chicken suit.

I liked the part about Oto. As Pitino said his name, Mo was mumbling as well. Even though Oto's numbers weren't anything to brag about, cool to see that others recognize his "gutty" performance.

My favorite Rick Pitino moment, from last night, was when he stepped down on to the floor during a time out to talk to one of the refs.

Did he really do that? I don't remember it.

Yep. He did. It was either during a time out, or right before the second half started. The team was huddled up, and Rick was a few feet away talking to the ref about something.

Noticed that as well. The refs were so bad and he was so close to them, I was almost surprised he hadn't already said something. Maybe he had already yelled to them though.

I didn't think rick looked awkward. He just looked super proud of his kid.

Can't hurt to have a hall of fame coach coming in to help his kid out. Hope he helps Richard further to find a few more spring recruits

That was one heckuva speech. Rick is one proud papa and he should be. Can't wait to see what we can do next year.

Once you get over the disappointment of missing out on the NCAAs, this is pretty much exactly how you hope it plays out. They dragged a little in some of the games, but for the most part, you just see a team that is fighting to win, which is really all I can ask. Similar to two years ago when they made the run. It makes for a much more enjoyable offseason when there's at least some momentum from winning games late.

We are undefeated (3-0) when Rick is in attendance. Hopefully we make it 4-0 tonight.

I saw a louisville press conference where Rick was tearing up talking about how proud he is of Richard and how he carries himself.

I think Rich is wanting to do things on his own. Not sure how much help he is asking for.

Really, really in the minority here, possibly all alone, but I've viewed enough of Rick for awhile.

You're not alone. The father & son thing was cute for awhile this season, but it's time for the media and everyone else to turn the page. It's time to let Richard sink or swim on his own without referencing his famous father at every turn. Elder Pitino needs to let that happen, too. When you have a child, give them wings, set them free, and let them fly, right?

Yeah shame on Rick Pitino for showing up and supporting his son. Rick gave him wings, he isn't sitting behind him at Louisville.

I agree with ESPN not needing to cover it and mention it every other minute. But guess what, that's never going to change, especially if Richard is successful. If we stop hearing about Rick, its likely because we stopped hearing about Rich.

Think the Manning story, that never gets old for ESPN.

No problem with Rick showing up & supporting his kid. Wouldn't mind a lot less theatrics so the spotlight can shine more on his kid. How about trying to lay low, maybe something more along the lines of Austin Hollins' dad, also a former coach?

Just a preference.

I thought Austin Hollins' dad was a bit of a d-bag with regards to Austin's college career. Didn't he call the college game "lame" or something like that? Not exactly supportive.

A quote from about four 3-4 years ago, true. I'm not going to condemn him for that. ... he's a NBA guy, not surprised he would say that.

You're both right, somewhere in the middle would be preferred.

I don't mind having Rick there. I think it's neat. I work with my dad and love having him around. If he was sticking his nose in and telling me to do stuff while being around I would feel differently. But having him around is a major reason I decided to come home.

Yeah, I think he was bored with college ball; probably still is. Reminds me a little of some of the things Charles Barkley said last year during the NCAA tournament, badmouthing some teams and some players for not being very good. I haven't heard him talk that same crap this year, so maybe he got a talking to.

I totally disagree with this. Rick Pitino showed up for what? 4 or 5 games of a 38-game season? To watch his son coach. I mean it isn't like he's spending four or five days a week in the Twin Cities hovering over Richard Pitino.

I'd say just the opposite about his time spent here, too. Every second Rick Pitino spends around this program validates it to important people. Current players, potential recruits, media members, etc. Pitino moves the needle. That's why the TV shows him. That helps Minnesota.

Rick Pitino is a Hall of Fame coach. The more he invests in this program, the better off it will be.

Agreed.
