Love the part about Malik shaving points at the end. You can tell Rick is a proud father.
Would have been much more interesting if his brother would have been in there instead of the old man.
I liked the part about Oto. As Pitino said his name, Mo was mumbling as well. Even though Oto's numbers weren't anything to brag about, cool to see that others recognize his "gutty" performance.
My favorite Rick Pitino moment, from last night, was when he stepped down on to the floor during a time out to talk to one of the refs.
Did he really do that? I don't remember it.
Yep. He did. It was either during a time out, or right before the second half started. The team was huddled up, and Rick was a few feet away talking to the ref about something.
That was one heckuva speech. Rick is one proud papa and he should be. Can't wait to see what we can do next year.
Can't hurt to have a hall of fame coach coming in to help his kid out. Hope he helps Richard further to find a few more spring recruits
Really, really in the minority here, possibly all alone, but I've viewed enough of Rick for awhile.
You're not alone. The father & son thing was cute for awhile this season, but it's time for the media and everyone else to turn the page. It's time to let Richard sink or swim on his own without referencing his famous father at every turn. Elder Pitino needs to let that happen, too. When you have a child, give them wings, set them free, and let them fly, right?
No problem with Rick showing up & supporting his kid. Wouldn't mind a lot less theatrics so the spotlight can shine more on his kid. How about trying to lay low, maybe something more along the lines of Austin Hollins' dad, also a former coach?
Just my preference.
I thought Austin Hollins' dad was a bit of a d-bag with regards to Austin's college career. Didn't he call the college game "lame" or something like that? Not exactly supportive.

Agreed.I totally disagree with this. Rick Pitino showed up for what? 4 or 5 games of a 38-game season? To watch his son coach. I mean it isn't like he's spending four or five days a week in the Twin Cities hovering over Richard Pitino.
I'd say just the opposite about his time spent here, too. Every second Rick Pitino spends around this program validates it to important people. Current players, potential recruits, media members, etc. Pitino moves the needle. That's why the TV shows him. That helps Minnesota.
Rick Pitino is a Hall of Fame coach. The more he invests in this program, the better off it will be.
