Not nearly as much fun to do this after a tough loss but what the heck.....

@Illinois - Didn't get to see their game with Wisconsin but they dominated the Badgers today. They shut down the Badgers run game and made Mertz beat them which he couldn't. Wasn't really sure what to make of the Illini but after today's performance they may very well be for real and a legit threat in the West. They get Iowa next week and then face us. Looks like a team to watch out for.

@Penn State - Hard to turn the ball over 5 times and win....unless you are playing Northwestern. Sloppy game in bad conditions but they got the win.

Rutgers - Lost big to Ohio State, no shocker there. Don't look very good.

@Nebraska - Pulling away from Indiana late in a sloppy penalty fest (23 combined for nearly 200 yards). Not a good Nebraska team but they have athletes and are taking it to Indiana in the 4th.

Northwestern - Hung around with Penn State in crappy conditions but this is not a good Northwestern team

Iowa - Michigan proved that the Iowa defense is human and put up some points on them. Iowa offense not surprisingly was unable to respond.

@Wisconsin - Getting blown-out by Ohio State last week is one thing. Following that up by getting blown out at home by Illinois is another. They had 2 yards rushing....2. Illini may be for real but the Badgers have some problems as well as their D does not look good and Mertz is very mediocre.

In the West - Wisconsin, Iowa and Minnesota got all the pre-season hype.....Purdue and Illinois however suddenly look like teams that may have a say in how it all plays out.

So to summarize, based on our performances yesterday, we’ll go 0-8 🤔

Thanks for still doing this thread. I think Iowa and Nebraska will continue to get better, even modestly.

It can't be overstated how big this Illinois game is.

Go Gophers!!
