Who would be sad to see Ralph turn pro? What a waste of talent...I don't think the light is going to come on next year and would rather give the minutes to Mo and Elliot.

agree somewhat.. Is there really that much talent? good passer, face up shot from 15 isnt bad but bottom line he plays like he is 6'3....

Given our recent history on losing depth to every possible scenario...I don't want any of our Juniors to leave...that said, he is very frustrating to watch sometimes.

Ralph is frustrating because he's about 80% of the player he could be, seemingly. But that 80% player is still one of the 5 best players on the team and I hope he stays.

Turn pro in what? I'm not sure how many pro teams are looking for a middling college big man with a very mediocre jump shot.

considering our depth it would probably be better if he stays but man is he frustrating to watch...id love for mo to be getting his minutes next year...ralph needs to put in a lot of work this offseason if he truly has aspirations of playing pro ball

To be honest, I think Ralph actually wishes he was 6'3" or somewhere around his brother's height. He plays like it at times and the whole RSII image wouldn't be looming over his head as a guard.

Pro? I am very confused here..... Ralph would get pushed around by Brittney Griner from the Baylor Women"s team

What did Clem Haskins say - 85% of people die with potential. I've never liked Ralph's prospects of becoming a 15 percent-er, and it's looking gloomier all the time. He needs to be challenged to simply play harder and better. I'd be surprised if the coaches haven't been working on that the whole time, but he's probably a tough nut to crack. I'm just sick and f'ing tired of seeing the most emotion he shows on the court is when he does that gay little dance during introductions.

He is simply not a low post player. High post player. He would be a great center for the Princeton offense. He is good if he is the high side of a high low. He is good on the short base line and elbow.

If Ralph leaves that would mean we lose 3 of the top 4 players from this years team. If Ralph and Mbakwe both leave...we lost 4/4. (hoffarber and Nolen being the other 2)

I cannot understand all the hate on Ralph. He is a solid player and has a good jumpshot. I highly doubt he will be leaving this year and will be glad to see him back next year.

I think his Dad is in his head...he plays so badly when his Dad is in the building and have read some quotes from his Dad about Ralph going pro...sometimes the expectations of a very successful parent can weigh on a kid...especially in the spot light...plus his Dad just gets voted into HoF...Ralph needs to become his own man...whatever that looks like.

I stood up the day I punched my Dad in the face and told him the next time he comes at me...Im using a shovel. I know we are all raised differently...so whatever that looks like for Ralph...please hit your old man with it and move on!

Did you watch against Penn St and Michigan enough said. No one on him and he cant draw iron in the clutch says it all.

I hope he doesnt leave I want seniors on the team.

Don't forget the range of a traffic cone, and constant physical presence. He needs to toughen up. My question is how long have they been waiting to run the Ralph curl 3-point game winning play?

Best thing was his teammates reaction... there like Ralph wtf was that ... really

Does that include the 3-pt wow of a shot with :32 seconds left in the game and :22 seconds on the shot clock?

For the young man's future, I hope he stays. He' won't be playing basketball until he's eligible for social security so he ought to get an education. That said, this roster is loaded with players with "potential" and I'm not sure why he's picked out for biggest disappointment. He's maybe the epitome of the Tubby recruit here at Minnesota. Big potential, little development.

Love seeing this thread every game. Yes, his airball was embarassing but this constant blame of Ralph is idiotic. Iverson is tripping over himself constantly and has to lead the league in offensive fouls without the ball. You guys want iverson to be the post player the gophers pin their hopes on?

Ralph can be frustrating but I don't get why he gets singled out all the time. All of this analysis of his airball being an indicator of how much he sucks isn't fair. Why not watch the mistakes of all the players throughout the game and let's rip every one in their own thread. Ralphs airball cost us the same as a dumb iverson offensive foul or mav travel in the first half.

The guy is 10 and 5.5 playing next to the Big Tens leading rebounder and without a player who can penetrate and kick to him for easy baskets and mid range jumpers (which is his biggest strength as a player). He is second in the conference in blocked shots. The hate is hilarious.

Ralph needs to send massive time on his jumper, he would be awesome shooting the game decider as he would be difficult to block of stop out there, if he could hit it consistantly, especially late in the game

Ralph

Rosemountain can't you go both ways with that.??

I think Trevor could say if the 7 footer I am playing along side of had a pair I would not have 3 guys collapsing on me on the box thus I would be averaging 19pts and 16 rebs... Instead of 14 and 10?? Just a thought... or you think that other guy would average more then 5 rebs with so much attention giving to Trevor.

Hoff could say- they have one guying denying me the ball when I come off screens they switch so I cant catch the ball- It would sure helpf if the 7 footer on our team could take a 6'4 guard down low and do something with him.... or take him outside and do something with him.

It's not hate just reality big difference...

Al Nolen could say man I wish when I broke down the defense and dished it to Ralph he would go up and dunk it NOT lay up soft.. if he would finish my assist total would be better...

funny and his biggest strength aint that great....

A good jumpshot? Maybe compared to Colton Iverson it is good but surely not nationally.

Ralph is 6'11... Jajuan Johnson and Leuer thats 2 in the big 10 alone...

Ralph playing with a good rebounder

Plenty o' boards to go around. Ralph avg 5.4 and funny Colt ave 5.0 playing next to the leagues top rebounder.

Funny Colt did that playing 319 minutes LESS then Ralph... Rebounding is about desire and willing to BATTLE for position...

Yes you can go both ways with that. Do you have a point?

What percent of Ralph's minutes are logged with Mbakwe?
What percent of Iverson's minutes are logged with Mbakwe?

Rebounding is about catching the ball after a miss regardless of how you do it.

How about just in the big 10?

Jon Leuer
Juan Johnson
Mike Tisdale
Jared Sullinger (Not 7' but he is a center)
Luka Mirkovic
Jared Berggren

And the only ones of that list that have better numbers than Ralphs 10.3 points and 5.5 rebounds, is Johnson (projected 1st round pick), Leuer (projected 2nd round pick) and Sullinger (projected lottery pick).

Ralph doesn't need to apologize to trail those three future nba players. Yes, there are players who have better stats and %.

I should have asked who other than Hoffarber has a better shot than Sampson for the Gophers?
