QB Jackson Kollock will enter the portal.

He is essentially transferring home. That's where he is from. Didn't start here so transferring back home as a redshirt sophomore
I guess it's closer to his home than Minnesota. But I was curious, so I checked and UC Davis is a 7+ hour drive from his hometown. It's closer to go to Chicago from Minneapolis. So it's not like he will be going home for a home cooked meal and to do laundry on weekends.

Title Senior Associate Athletics Director for External Relations, Chief Marketing Officer, and Senior Woman Administrator
I gotta admit, when I read the first two titles I assumed the author screwed up, but then there's that third title. It exists.

Not sure I've ever heard the title "Senior Woman Administrator". I think I know what he meant, but man....

It is an NCAA designated role for the senior woman in each athletic department. Pretty sure all departments have one. Ours was Julie Manning for several years. Not sure who has that title now that she's gone.

He'll be in his home state. That means a lot to some kids.

Didn't know that, thanks. Maybe it's just me, but Senior Female would come off better. Senior Woman just came off as old fashioned and rude, and I think that's why I thought it was a mistake.

While technically true, if you compare where he went to high school to where he'll be playing next year, most people wouldn't feel like they're in the same state. I mean, this was the description of one of the events before one of their home games last year:

will include a 5 p.m. tailgate that will feature tractors, cattle, sheep, goats and more

Not much in common with the beaches of southern CA.

Good for him! He now has a much better chance to start and get actual game experience THIS YEAR! If he does well, everyone will have tape on him and he can transfer back up for more money. This seems like a much better strategy than sitting on the bench and getting no tape with the Gophers. That would give the Gophers all the leverage since they'd be the only ones that have seen him play the last two years. Sorry, I'm a Gopher fan, but this move just seems to make too much sense for him.

Wasn't familiar with UC Davis. Had to look it up. See that they have a theme for each home game.

Davis is the California University system Ag campus. Although it's an FCS school, its a pretty big school and has an impressive endowment.

I played there back in the day. It’s like going to school in the middle of Iowa I had no idea how rural it was until we drove from the airport to the campus and drove by a myriad of cornfields. Plenty of FCS quarterbacks making the jump back up so good luck to the kid; or maybe he’ll stay there and have a hell of a career either way, glad he found a place to land before the music stopped.
