As another poster mentioned I wouldn't read a ton into where he was on the depth chart as a true freshman. He was on the very bottom of the depth chart, so this was inevitable.
While transferring is a risk, "waiting for your turn," is a bigger one IMHO. Best of luck to him.Kind of sucks but obviously he wasn't going to see playing time for at least a year. If the Mater Dei recruit blows up and PJ can hold on to him, Kollack likely will never get a chance.
The two QBs in this class, ain’t too shabby either.Kind of sucks but obviously he wasn't going to see playing time for at least a year. If the Mater Dei recruit blows up and PJ can hold on to him, Kollack likely will never get a chance.
He’s no Jason Kapsner
Others have done it (Sammy Baugh I think). It can' be seen, but he might have his thumb on the laces.Never good to hear a 4star qb is leaving but in this case there are two major considerations: 1. Drake is the man. 2. Throwing a football without using the laces is pure madness
He had a high ceiling, he was a redshirt freshman, he certainly would have won the backup position next year in my mind. Shickenjanski and Wittke are not BIG 10 QBs. The 20th best QB in the nation coming out of high school typically doesn’t have aspirations to be a clipboard holder. I hope Lindsey stays because we lost one of the highest QB recruits we’ve ever had.He was on the very bottom of the depth chart, so this was inevitable.
Lindsey will stay and we’ll probably sign another four star guy or borderline four star at qb like we do every year. The hidden benefit if Lindsey balls out is that it will attract other qbs.He had a high ceiling, he was a redshirt freshman, he certainly would have won the backup position next year in my mind. If you say so.Was not on the bottom of the depth chart but was not going to play over Drake so preserved his red shirt. Don’t think he could have beat out Moorhead or Wittke? Probably by years end could have probably outplayed Max. Probably would be number two next year. The backups got in like one game this year in a 66-0 blowout.

It never came out who made a business decision did it? Maybe it was Kollock..The assumption often is that these guys chose to leave and the coaches didn't want to.
It's also possible coaches had an honest conversation about where they see him in the future and he made his call and everyone is ok with this.
Considering the recruitment of multiple QB's for weeks, this was not a surprise. Hard to know what prompted it, but usually the landing spot gives a good indication. The assumption often is that these guys chose to leave and the coaches didn't want them to leave.

Not really. Probably means he is holding out in hopes of finding a Power 4 school that would take him, but he isn't going to be a high priority type recruit for any of those schools who will be looking for more proven options.Anyone else surprised he hasn’t found a home yet?
Portal closes on the 16th I think, but I guess that’s just for entering. I suppose you can sign guys after that still, but teams won’t have many spots opening after that. I think Kollock and Lanier are the only players of note that haven’t committed. Not really. Seems like he wouldn't have much trouble finding a landing spot if he was looking to drop down in class.
Could hold out for teams to have injuries and need a QB down the line I suppose. If you are in the portal you stay in the portal even after the window closes I believe so he could still catch on with a team during spring ball or even fall camp if he wants to wait around.Portal closes on the 16th I think, but I guess that’s just for entering.
