Keaton Studsrud, a quarterback from St. Louis Park (MN) Benilde St. Margaret's has been perhaps the state's most productive offensive player through the first half of the season.

Studsrud attended multiple Golden Gopher games this year and talked to Gopher Hole about his senior season and the latest on his recruitment. The three-year starter completed 100 of 172 passes for 1342 yards with seven touchdowns and seven interceptions as a junior.

Studsrud completed 30 of 42 passes with seven touchdowns and zero interceptions in the first three games of the season.

Gopher Hole: What colleges are you starting to hear from recruiting-wise?

Keaton Studsrud: I just got an offer from North Dakota. I am talking to Minnesota. I am actually talking to Western Illinois, too. Eastern Illinois, NDSU, Northern Illinois and Iowa State.

Gopher Hole: Did you get a chance to go to many college football camps this summer?

Keaton Studsrud: I went to a bunch. I think that I went to eight or nine. I went to two or three of the Gopher ones. I went to Iowa State, NDSU, North Dakota and Northern Illinois.

Gopher Hole: Are teams looking at you exclusively as a quarterback or are they looking at you at a different position?

Keaton Studsrud: A lot of the higher ones, like Minnesota and a few of the other Division I-A schools are more of the athlete, but the D1-AA's are quarterback.

Gopher Hole: What do you that you need to show some of those higher level schools like a Minnesota, that you can play at that Big Ten level?

Keaton Studsrud: I just got to have a good year. I think that when they watch me play, I have to do well.

Gopher Hole: Are you playing any other sports at Benidle?

Keaton Studsrud: I play baseball. I am captain of that. I am actually talking to Minnesota for that, too. NDSU and a few other ones.

Gopher Hole: What position are you playing?

Keaton Studsrud: Shortstop.

Gopher Hole: Have you taken the ACT or SAT yet?

Keaton Studsrud: I took the ACT last May and I think that I am going to re-take it this upcoming month.

Gopher Hole: What did you get on that?

Keaton Studsrud: 22.

Gopher Hole: What is your GPA?

Keaton Studsrud: 3.3.

Gopher Hole: Have you thought much about possible college major?

Keaton Studsrud: Maybe business. Both of my parents are in the business field and engineering, I am taking a class at DCM in that.

Gopher Hole: What would it mean to maybe have an opportunity to play at the home state school?

Keaton Studsrud: It would be awesome. I would love it. I talked to Coach Kill this summer and he is a great guy. I love the coaching staff. Of course, all the Minnesota guys are nice. I got to know them over this summer and it was a lot of fun.

Gopher Hole: How do you think that you performed at the camps? Did you play quarterback-only at the camps?

Keaton Studsrud: Minnesota, at one, I played quarterback and the other one, I played wide receiver and DB. I thought that I did well. Obviously, I have not played wide receiver in high school, so it was a little different for me, but it was fun.
