Purdue.....

In 1960, Purdue went 4-4-1. One of their wins was in Minneapolis against the eventual National Champion Gophers.

Better Gophers teams have lost to very average Purdue teams in Minnesota. It's important that the players know this.

As said in a different thread, with our offensive limitations, we should not take anyone lightly.

I'm actually more nervous about this game than NW... With that said I think we could put up some offensive points this week.. Mitch has done what we've all asked of him here in B1G play.. Don't turn the ball over multiple times, converted 3rd downs at a higher efficency, and complete some passes to keep the d honest. If we would of seen this mitch against TCU we win that game...
Were not a great team but we are becoming solid in enough areas to play with anyone in the B1G this year.. I believe that's going to translate into a very confident group. Were starting to see the strides by some people that we had hoped add in some solid to waaaay above expectations by some young even true freshman kids..
I'll be saddened by a loss but as the hours go by I'm much more confident that Jerry's kids will be ready to play and win this in convincing fashion...

And Leidner, who has attempted 91 passes with 5 INT's and rushed 34 times with 2 fumbles. Total touches of 125 with 7 TO's for a turnover percentage of 5.6%.

Last time I checked the quarterback touches the ball every play. Not a fair comparison.

How? It's a direct comparison to Mariota. If we did it your way, it would actually look worse since Oregon runs significantly more plays offensively. Excuse us for not giving the quarterback credit for handoffs. We shouldn't take such a difficult thing for granted.

No opinion on the argument but handoffs can't be taken for granted. There is also the snap from center. On Saturday, winding down the clock, needing a first down, we came perilously close to fumbling. Cobb exploded to the line and Mitch was late and stuck it in from the side. That would not have been helpful around midfield.

Fair enough, but if you don't account for for handoffs and sacks. As long as you're consistent, it doesn't matter in comparison. It would also improve Mariota's percentage significantly more than almost anyone else due to the pace that Oregon plays with.
