Really sad news to come back to from the long weekend.
I had coached kids who competed against him in track. He was a great athlete and a determined competitor. He threw shotput over 50' in the section finals against my guys with a badly sprained hand, he had bent all the fingers back to the wrist in practice, he was icing it in between throws and wasn't able to warm up. Tough, tough kid.
My heart goes out to his family and friends.
