Was Harrell really that bad as an OC or was there something scandalous or some kind of rift between him and the head coach? Seems odd to fire an OC this early in the season.

Considering head coach is a DC, he likely wasn’t complimenting the defense well. Coach is likely on hot seat in the portal and NIL world.

I think the issues at Purdue go well beyond Harrell. Just a few years ago he was considered a big up and comer in the coaching world. I won't act like I follow him enough to know everything about him, but this definitely smells of a HC needing to make a change to buy himself/the program a little time and take a little heat off.
