Anybody can nominate a work of literature for the Pulitzer Prize. All it takes is $75 to submit a work of literature to the committee. What post would you think approaches the criteria for the prize from GH? I can't think of any off hand, but maybe someone can pick a candidate post. This is 2025 and it is time they review the best post to a message board as a fresh, new category.

This could be fun. It looks like there is no set criteria for Pulitzers, the board just decides what is "distinguished."

3. What are the criteria for the judging of The Pulitzer Prizes?

There are no set criteria for the judging of the Prizes. The definitions of each category (see How to Enter or Administration page) are the only guidelines. It is left up to the nominating juries and the Pulitzer Prize Board to determine exactly what makes a work "distinguished."

Back in the day Jason Groth would highlight a “post of the day” and I received of a few of those on occasion and my Dad who was an avid GH reader would print out at work when I got a POD and show my Mom like he was a proud parent of a kid in school! 😂

He passed away 9 years ago and was the self proclaimed loudest clapper at Williams Arena, a distinction he believed to be true! 😊

Go Gophers!!
