Projected 2026 Lineup

Just my opinion (and I am sure no one here cares), but its kinda silly to project lineups for next season in January. Lots of movement will still happen.

LOL! I remember seeing someone at the line i didn't recognize and was really surprised when I see it was '2' when I saw the play end
Because someone was lined up near the LO !a few times presnap doesnt make them a defensive lineman.
Is Harrison Smith a defensive lineman?

IMHO, we still really need an experienced TE from the portal. Of the 7 current TEs expected to be on the 2026 roster (3 are incoming FR), there are a total of 3 catches for 22 yards in 2025. Pierce Walsh has 2 for 17 and Julian Johnson has 1 for 5. That's it. That's not enough for a season in which we expect to do bigger things than in 2025.

You’ve really convinced yourself that Howard is going to be a DT next year…
Yeah he’s only 250 and was tight end in high school. Anthony Smith has a better chance at playing d tackle on 3rd down passing situations which is not ideal either.

Obviously in the way too early part of things however based on who has said they are coming back and who has committed in the portal it is not impossible to start to get a sense for what the lineups will probably look like next year, or at least what they will look like heading into fall camp.

We have a lot of returning starters on both sides of the ball.

There’s quite a bit of talent at TE I think, guys will take advantage of the opportunity.

Walsh and Johnson are ready, I think. Johnson appears to be very athletic and has seen the field on STs a lot. Maybe Voss comes in ready to play (although PJ expects some size and a lot of blocking skill from TEs). That, together with the transfer, gives us some real talent, I agree--just a bit lacking in B1G playing experience.
