My thoughts on order of priority of what needs to change/improve next year:
1. DC
2. OL/OL coach
3. CB
4. LB
5. WR
6. OC

Thoughts?

Without focusing on coaching, we need DL and CB. I still think we have some talent in the OL room and I’m not sure why those two transfers got pushed to the front of the line on the right side finally benched 74 yesterday; i’ll be at game 11?

I’d add: Athletic/pass catching threat TE. Way down the list as . . .

Nothing matters more than OL, DL, and secondary, however.

I’d say new kicker, but we already have him on the roster.

D coordinator
Cornerbacks
Linebackers
O linemen
O coordinator
Aggressive play calling
Kicker

This makes absolutley no sense
We will agree to disagree. When our Oline can't push a smaller FCS Defensive line on a Tush Push there is a probably both a technique and strength problem.

Chris Doyle the strength & conditioning coach is the one given the credit for Iowa producing NFL offensive linemen.

Dear Santa,

I've been a very good boy for 50 years other than the time when my Dad found his Playboys under my mattress and I blamed my little sister. Please disregard that momentary lapse of judgement and consider my list:

1. NIL cash...lots of cash.
2. New Athletic Director
3. Football General Manager
4. New DC...ours is broken.
5. Increased coaching budget
6. Lou Nanne Fundraising action figure

Send the Do-It-Yourself Breathalyzer Kit to WI and the "Fair Catch for Dummies" manual to IA.

You forgot to mention his "nutritional supplement" program.

Is Roman Voss gonna play coming in? I have Tyler Warren level aspirations for him

I'm looking at Lou Esposito to be a candidate for the DC position. Lou is the defensive line coach at Michigan. Who was a former bronco at Western after PJ became the head coach here. Start with the guys up front will bring up the rest of the defensive unit. A highly ranked recruiter according to 24/7.

While everyone else nibbles around the edges, I am ready for a complete regime change.

Put any Big Ten team on our schedule for this Saturday (or in 2026) that you would circle as a guaranteed win.

Below are your choices. I'll go first............🤔😧🤷🏼‍♂️

NIL priorities:

1) One starting cornerback: Our safeties will look a lot better with competent corner play & we get them both back next year. Go hard for one B1G caliber starting corner and everyone else can get knocked down a peg next year. We've had some bad injury luck at corner and were thin anyway.

2) Two starting offensive guards: Our tackles seem to pass block OK. If we can get even one guard that can mal people in the run game, that would help and they can't be that expensive. Grabbing a tackle would be great, but I bet they cost a lot more. We do have three OTs in our top 8 recruits in our 2026 recruiting class including the top OT from MN & WI so they are trying to get some talent in here.

3) A better than average defensive tackle.

We can't get everything we want so that's my wish list if we could get four players from the portal. That combined with internal development could help a lot. Of course, we'll take more across the board, but I'm trying to be realistic. Getting four starters from the portal is likely NOT realistic for a school like Minnesota. This feels like a stretch already. We had bad portal luck this year. Maybe it evens out next year.

I think we're fine at RB with a healthy Taylor, Ijeboi & Turner back next year & the same at WR. We should be serviceable at DE too.

I like Matt Kingsbury & Emmanuel Karmo at linebacker. They have athleticism even if they do seem to make a lot of mistakes. Maybe they don't have the appropriate instincts which means then we're in trouble, but I'm going to assume they improve a lot from year one to two. We have Maverick for another year too. This group should be better next year.

Hopefully, a few younger recruits pop and we're OK.

  1. CSC agreement in place and actual NIL rules to be followed
  2. Larger assistant pool to pay quality assistants
  3. Defense improvements
  4. OL improvements
  5. WR improvements

I'd like to win the lottery.. The other day I went down a rabbit hole and did virtual tours of the suits at the stadium. I really think I could really like watching the games from that view....
