Predict the Score versus Washington in NIT Tuesday 8 p.m ESPN2

Sorry guys, have to go with the Dawgs:

UDub 82
Gophers 68

If Ross continues his FiRe this game is over before tipoff. Wroten is due for an explosive offensive output, he loves the bright lights. No amount of HotRodin can save Minn!

Minnesota has only allowed more than 70 points in regulation in 3 games total this year. If UW scores 80, I'd be impressed.

Well...UW has put up over 80 in 4 of the past 6 games. It's not like Minnesotta is a steel curtain of defenses. But no arguing with that stat of 3 games over 70. I assume Minn slows down possessions per game and operates in a half court set. Washington, this year, has had trouble dictating tempo so lets assume the game is played in Minn's favor.

You hit the nail on the head with what normally happens not only with Minnesota, but in the Big Ten. If Minnesota can slow the game down and force UW to play in the half-court, it may not go well for UW.

If this game were played 1 month ago I'd whole heartedly agree...but our starting PG's are averaging 8.2 (gaddy) and 5.0 (wroten) assists per game over the past 5 games. UW is traditionally a transition offense and ball hawking defense. UW can't do that this year with lack of lateral quickness, tenacity, and depth. BUT, UW is getting better in the half court set and I think the stats above can serve as a representation to an outsider. I do agree with you though, that when ever a team can dictate tempo, especially away from home, that it works in their favor.

First score prediction of the year for me:

stocker08: Gophers 77 - 72

Final Score: Gophers 68-67.

Dilemma tonight: GophersInIowa 69-65 at 5:54 p.m. Monday. Gopherfrommt 69-65 at 5:59 p.m. Tuesday. Do they both get a win, or only the earliest pick?

Both.

I would go the earliest pick. That is the cleanest and easiest way to decide a winner.

I also lean for earliest post, last year that was one of the rules regarding duplicate picks...Earliest entry wins.

i vote tie as it's unlikely that Gft read GiI's pick. Nicely played by both.

I'd go with the earlier one. I was going to pick 69-65, but I saw that it was already chosen (twice), so I picked a different score.

I think you should declare the confident Washington guy the winner in good sportsmanship.
