Glancing at raw statistics WVU isn’t great at running the ball. Their QB and pass attack seems to be average to above average. Their defense seems average to slightly above average.

We know a few things about their opponent. MN likes to hold and run the ball, but are average in terms of ypc in 2021. We have an average pass attack…maybe below average but probably partially self-inflicted (see next paragraph). The defense OTOH has been far above average bordering on top tier.

The wild cards are the dismissal of MSJr and the boost that could give the offense, and Ive heard inklings of significant hold outs and transfers at WVU. MN has a lot of guys that could opt out playing tomorrow. This bodes well for interest, motivation and morale.

Gophers 21 - WV 20. WV goes for 2 at end and Gophers defend to hold on for the win. My gut tells me this is going to be a close game because of the amount of time off and spent in Arizona. The odd environment of the baseball stadium and playing surface too.
