Sorry about the title it should read Whalen Feels Rejuvenated. Accidental click.
Whalen has always had a close relationship with Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve, and it’s taken on a different dynamic over the past several weeks.
“We have always sort of talked in a different way than some of the other players in terms of strategy and that sort of thing,” Reeve said. “Now it’s us talking about other things, whether it’s drills or plays or that sort of thing. It’s been a little bit different.”
As far as Whalen is concerned, there’s no better person to learn from; over the past decade, Reeve has established herself as one of the best coaches in WNBA history, leading Minnesota to four championships over the past seven seasons. The Lynx have a chance win their first back-to-back title this season, which starts Sunday at Target Center.
“That’s the great thing about this: I’m here every day learning from her, so it should be a pretty good transition into next season,” Whalen said.
