PP: Richard Pitino 'Open to everything' in the late signing period

When it comes to filling out his 2015 recruiting class, second-year University of Minnesota basketball coach Richard Pitino is "open to everything."

"Transfers, high school seniors, fifth-year seniors and junior college kids," Pitino said. "I want to sign a couple good ones. We're not just going to use it to use them."

The late signing period begins Wednesday and ends Aug. 1.

The Gophers have three more scholarships available to use for this year's class, which already includes four incoming freshmen.

The top priorities appear to be landing a small forward and getting help in the post.

Didn't read the article, but this isn't correct.

The bad news is the regular NLI signing period doesn't extend to August 1. It goes to May 20. (D-II does go to August 1 -- but not D-I.)

The good news is that the regular NLI signing period doesn't matter much at all.
