Per Greder:

But Daniels, a Cincinnati native and cousin to Buckeyes great Paris Johnson, went home — with a name, image and likeness (NIL) offer that was too rich for the Gophers’ pocketbook. Daniels ended up being the Gophers’ only significant loss to the transfer portal last year, but it was a big one and has had a domino effect.

Go Gophers!!

Yeah, I think the issue is that tOSU obviously had a recruiting miss at RT and instead of having to live with that, which might be someone our DE might have had more success against, they got to go out and get an upgrade.

Recruiting misses were a great way for teams to upset the helmet schools, and now they are nullified.

I hate the precedent of losing a young OL to a blue blood conference competitor, they take a lot of investment in development, but did it really matter that much in the end?

It would allow for

Roy, Johnson, Beers, Ray, Daniels potentially. It had nothing to do with outcome, but would have likely helped in other games this season

Right, it allows you to have one more talented lineman to add into the mix and sit the guy struggling the most. I find it hard to believe he wouldn't have helped. It is comforting to see he hasn't been a world beater!

NIL or not, we shouldn't be surprised when a guy from Ohio wants to transfer home and seizes that opportunity.

are we going to tell Jaxon Howard to go back to LSU?
Speaking of Jaxon Howard, if you have the opportunity to listen the Home Grown segment with Mike Grim from last week, it is excellent.
