I don't see why he can't be like Hunter in Colorado.

I might feel a bit bad about abusing the kid to much before his pro career.

I don't know man....Hunter is a rare breed....to be able to play that many snaps at the level he does is pretty unreal.

I'm all for finding creative ways to use Koi but not sure I would push the offense thing, would rather see him become a defensive and special teams standout (probably already is on special teams) then build from there.

But exciting to see signs that he is going to live up to the hype and hopefully will stick around and become a legend here following in the footsteps of Antoine Winfield Jr., Tyler Nubin and others that have done really well in our secondary and gone on to the pros.

Because nobody in the county is quite like Hunter. For as great as Koi is and can be, Hunter is on a different level. There's a reason he has a great shot to win the Heisman.

Cooper DeJean is a great comp for Koi for a lot of reasons unrelated to skin color. Both have a very similar build, play in the secondary and seem to have elite punt return ability.
 

Bring him in a critical situation on offense that would confuse the defense perhaps and go from there. Perhaps start with this sort of thing in his sophomore year.

Sure there is.....you don't put him out there and have him get burned by being out of position or making a critical error due to the fact that he is a true freshman making the transition from small town Minnesota football to Power 4 division one football.

When he is ready to start I feel confident that the coaches will put him out there. Kid is an elite athlete who has already made his presence felt in the limited action he has seen so far. They have made it clear they are going to play him so there is no reason to hold back once he is ready.

But you don't force it by asking him to do things he isn't ready for.

Not the experience I have witnessed from Fleck. He's ready and the secondary has thinned and needs a spark.

Koi played both ways in high school, you never know what he's capable of...

Seems like a lot of guys here are confused. He's playing. He's the kick return man and the punt returner. He's on coverage teams. He's playing some on defense and they have already shown they have a blitz package for him.

He will soon be ready to start at safety and play full time on D.
 





He has enough on his plate. Being a Freshman just trying to find his way around campus. Doesn’t need more football schemes. Plus who would he replace on offense? Playing more won’t keep him as a Gopher - at least for the first year.
 


I say take him off the kick-offs. Put him on defense and have him return punts and kicks.
