Hey guys - as always, I'm typing live, and miss some things, but this is the gist of the comments:

Trevor Mbakwe:
• I'm happy where I'm at right now, coach brought me along
• I think I'm 100% with my knee right now
• Sky's the limit for this team
• Working on getting better, some of my free throws this year haven't been good
• When asked what he was working on - Nothing special, I work on my weaknesses everyday
• Sid asked: You had personal problems, are those over now? Trevor replied: Yes
• (Sid asked his GPA) - Gpa was 3.2 last semester
• Anything less than winning the championship is a let down this year.

Austin Hollins:

• On what Tubby told them at the half: He told us we were doing good things, we were rebounding, but not converting offensively.
• We just have to get ready for 2 road games
• We fought back today
• I was just trying to play the offense
• We didn't get a lot of shots off in the 1st half
• It is always a tough game with that Princeton offense
• On not scoring in the 1st half - It was tough, we weren't converting offensively.

Rodney Williams:
• Goal is to get a Big 10 title, then make some noise at the Big 10 Tournament
• Coach Smith has been a real good mentor, the best coach I've had in my life.
• I want to finish this season out 1st, then worry about the nba later (Sid really pushed him on this, but his focus is on the season)
• Illinois is playing really well right now, we will prepare for them, but not any differently than we have been.
• It felt good, you never really pay attention but the win is more important, it's only fun when you're winning
• Being at home made the difference in the 2nd half, the crowd really makes a difference.
• On watching Cooper yesterday: It felt good to see them play, but they got all the new stuff after I left, like uniforms (laughing).

Tubby Smith:
• It was a good win for us, we certainly knew coming in that a team like NU gives us a different set of challenges, their defense was excellent in the 1st half. A lot of it had to do with them being able to control the tempo, and take time off the clock, it made for a long half. Our kids stayed focus, they knew there would be games like this.
Tubby told the team at halftime: The most insignificant score is the halftime score.
• We wanted to run, and I didn't think in the early part of the game, we didn't transition like we should, Mav did a better job of pushing the ball up the court in the 2nd half.
• At halftime, it was just a matter or taking the shots when we're there. Andre turned down some shots that he should of taken in the 1st half.
• They started passing up shots, looking for something better. We weren't really getting the ball to the basket.
• We had more rebounds in the 1st half than we had points, we did a good job of offensive rebounding the ball. Trevor is around the ball all the time. Oto has put together two good games, we need our players off the bench doing that. We need Andre Ingram and Julian, and Maverick to play like they did.
• They made a couple 3's with some folks on them as well, they shoot the 3, and I thought for the most part, we challenged them.
• I want Austin to take the 3's when they're there, not force it.
• I thought we did establish that by the rebounding, the 2nd shots, and that opens up the 3 point shot.
• You don't have any chance of winning in any league without winning your home games.
• I'm finding something out everyday, every moment there's something new, I learn a lot (when asked if he would learn more about the team on the road).
• Northwestern was going a good job with their man to man, they were challenging us, they had 11 steals on the game, that gives you an idea how well they were playing defensively. I'm sure Bill Carmody was feeling good about where they were. At the half, we were playing great defense, but they were too.
• Austin has been struggling with a groin pull since the USC game. He had a bad split, and he's finally healthy for the first time. He's the most dedicated guy, he has to change his shirt twice during practice, he's just that hard a worker...he sweats a lot!
• We have a lot of players we can go to, a lot of weapons.
• Feels much different than last year when we went on the road, we had 6 news guys going on the road. This league has gotten so much better though, all those guys have gotten a year older and more experienced. We've got a long ways to go.

hope Rodney somehow slipped that into a convo with his buddy Vaughn

I did want to ask both Trevor and Rodney about going to the shootout on Saturday, but they cannot comment on recruits. If you guys can think of anyway I can ask him...without asking him his thoughts, let me know!
