Possible new coach candidate?

Marc Trestman seems a logical choice. Local guy, connections to Canada, not to mention an in at St Louis Park H.S.
Used to big market pressure....just to mention the tip of the iceberg.

Yeah, I'm giving up on the smart ass thing. I posted some nonsense about Mike and Bud Grant and got some guy pointing out that Mike was a HIGH school coach.

If we can pull together a staff of Dungy, Grant AND Trestman, Delaney will likely cancel next season and just give us the trophy. Get to work, Beth.

If not Claeys then PJ Fleck.
My out of box candidate (currently HC) is Mark Hudspeth.
Maybe look at plucking Bobo away from CSU and keep Georgia pipeline with recruiting.
My ultimate hope is we keep the staff, our recruiting class, and give Claeys a shot. Kids need consistency.

If it isn't coach claeys, could look at Tom Herman from Houston who has big ten toes from Ohio state.

This thread still going I see. We have a coach. He's apart of the same brick by brick foundation we've been building. Why tear it down and start over?

Because a house is more then just a foundation.....

After seeing Saturday night, I would say keeping TC is still on the table, but he's gotta be willing to make a move/demotion at OC. Kids deserve consistency, but they also deserve competency too.

Gopher fans are funny. Even looking beyond all of Sark's issues, what pary of his resume would warrant us hiring him as head coach?

Sark as Gopher coach is one of the funniest things I've read on here. Maybe Sark could get JT to transfer here.

If Steve Sarkisian gets treatment and comes out a new man, would he be someone the Gophers should take a chance on or do you think he's not squeaky clean enough for ski u mah?

Also would he be able to get his type of guys to come to Mpls?

Just an idea I had since he was originally good enough for USC before his drinking problems ft him fired..

Drinking had NOTHING to do with the Teague situation...dude is a perve. Its more acceptable to be a drunk (que music....blame it on the liquor....Chris Brown) than a perve. My bad; I was drunk. Versus; your lips sure look pretty....(aka Ned Beaty) or that's who I actual am.

The offense looked different against Michigan. They mixed up the play calling and let the QB throw. They do need to hire another Oline or OC coach and let Limey concentrate on just one of those spots.

I'm not talking about Teague, I was talking about Steve Sarkisian...

What about Spurrier? (sarcasm turned up to to 11)

I'll one up on the sarcasm score:

Why don't we just go after Saban??? I'm sure he's sick of being criticized for not winning National Championships in the last couple years.

Maybe Bob Stoopes regrets not taking the job back when they hired Mason - should check in with him as well.

John Harbaugh and Chuck Pagano might be available after the season...

Oh and John Harbaugh has a brother who can allegedly coach - should probably reach out to him, too.

Seriously though, supposedly Spurrier said he'd potentially be interested in being some kind of offensive consultant. I'd love to see the U hire him in that type of capacity even if it's working remotely so he doesn't ever have to get cold. But I'm sure some other school will dump a pile of money on him before MN would.

The other funny part is that several of the candidates that were mentioned when Coach Kill was hired are now available. Brady Hoke, Randy Edsall, Al Golden (probably missing someone). All were generally (granted, not universally) deemed more desirable than Coach Kill. Now none of them are even deemed to be worthy of conversation. Not that it doesn't make sense. Just funny.

Gus Bradley. The Jaguars coach. when he gets fired at the end of the year, he'll be available. He's from Minnesota. Obviously has NFL street cred recruits like to see..... he's my outside the box dark horse.
He also knows how to run a program with little to no support...

Last paragraph...most posters drop names just to sound temporarily smart. :)
