This matches what I see for them as well. 8-4 feels like their floor with that schedule. But of course anything can happen once the teams hit the field in the fall.

With that said I picked 9-3 in the poll.

The "new" OL coach has to be an upgrade over Rudolph.
The new OC, if he is allowed to actually devise the game plan, is an upgrade over Chryst.
If Mertz does not improve a better replacement does not seem available.
The defense will be good, but not as good as last year.
A reliable RB has to appear to spell Allen.
WI has a manageable schedule but not as easy as NE and MN.
It will be an interesting season in the BIG West.

9-3
Even on a year they are supposedly ruled out, they seem to do better than the predictions. Never can rule these guys out to even do better.

I see their bottom as 6-6, their ceiling as 10-2 and most likely outcome as 9-3 (losses to MN, OSU and other (MSU, IA or Neb). Their defense alone will not win them games this year, which means their offense will have to produce something. I am not positive Mertz has the accuracy to hit the WR group he will be given. This means the offensive game plan will have to open things up so the OC will really make or break this season for them. They will be competitive but the gap between a 6-6 season and 10-2 is tight and this season could go either way. I hope its a disaster for them, but not counting on it. This season will be interesting.
