They have a brutal November, could easily see them going 0-4 there. Assume they'll lose to OU.

I think they figure out a way to beat North Dakota.

Beyond that ... I don't know. Even Georgia Southern, could be a tougher out than they're thinking. Same for Indiana and Rutgers. I don't think NW or ILL will be "easy", either.

I went 5-7. Start 3-0, beat Indiana at home, win one of what I consider toss-ups with Rutgers and Illinois.

High chance they are 4-4 when we meet. If we beat them at Nebraska they announce the interim coach by Monday.

Could trade a couple of the wins' and losses.

I don't think there's any chance in hell they go 5-0 over NW + Oct games.

3-2 with the rest as you have it, drops them to 5-7. Which seems right.

But for Frost to keep his job, I think they at least have to make a bowl game.

Action Network's Collin Wilson's Power ranking loves Nebraska; has them 14 in nation (Gophs 43, WI 27, IA 18).

5-7 and if they pick up a 4th loss before the MN game that will be frosts last game.
I see
Northwestern - W
North Dakota -W
Georgia southern W
Oklahoma - L
Indiana - W
Rutgers - L
Purdue - L
Illinois - W
Minnesota - L
Michigan - L
Wisconsin - L
Iowa - L

If any of those W’s are L’s he doesn’t make it to November

Because of losses through graduation and discontent with the program and "metrics" Frost needs to make to keep his job Frost has to fold into the depth chart 15 players from the portal and learn to wok with an almost all new staff.
NE's cross over schedule is not difficult this year and excepting OU the non conference schedule is not daunting.
Given all of the variables I would not bet a dime on what the NE W/L record will be at the end of the regular season.
A more interesting speculation is why is Alberts hiding from the press the metrics that Frost needs to meet?
Are they embarrassingly easy? That is my guess.
I would bet he contacted some coaches and no one wanted the NE job or wanted too much money.
Frost will be there no matter what his record is.

How good will they be? Compared to last year, about the same.

What will their record be? 6-6 or 7-5, which is a solid improvement.

Their schedule is quite a bit easier and they had bad luck in close games last season.

If I'm going to be optimistic for Nebraska and their defense is still solid and their new QB is awesome and everything falls into place:

Aug 27 (Sat) 11:30 AM - Neutral - Northwestern - Dublin, Ireland (Aviva Stadium)
Sep 3 (Sat) 2:30 PM - Home - North Dakota - Lincoln, Neb. (Memorial Stadium)
Sep 10 (Sat) 6:30 PM - Home - Georgia Southern - Lincoln, Neb. (Memorial Stadium)
Sep 17 (Sat) 11 AM - Home - Oklahoma - Lincoln, Neb. (Memorial Stadium)

It's hard to assume anything better than 3-1 here with Oklahoma. They played Oklahoma tough. Northwestern could be tricky, but I definitely wouldn't bet on NW.
So 3-1 is pretty safe bet.

Oct 1 (Sat) 6 or 6:30 PM - Home - Indiana - Lincoln, Neb. (Memorial Stadium)
Oct 7 (Fri) 6 PM - Away - Rutgers - Piscataway, N.J.
Oct 15 (Sat) TBA - Away - Purdue - West Lafayette, Ind.
Oct 29 (Sat) TBA - Home - Illinois - Lincoln, Neb. (Memorial Stadium)

I don't think Indiana is good and at Rutgers is definitely winnable. Purdue could be tough for them, and Illinois got them last year, but there's a potential step back for Illinois. Optimistically you could say they win all 4. Someone understanding Nebraska's issues would say 2-2. Someone more reasonable, maybe 3-1. But for this argument we'll go red kool-aid and say 4-0.

Nov 5 (Sat) TBA - Home - Minnesota - Lincoln, Neb. (Memorial Stadium)
Nov 12 (Sat) TBA - Away - Michigan - Ann Arbor, Mich.
Nov 19 (Sat) TBA - Home - Wisconsin - Lincoln, Neb. (Memorial Stadium)
Nov 25 (Fri) 3 PM - Away - Iowa - Iowa City, Iowa

This is the tough part of the schedule. Any Nebraska fan who is optimistic is going to mark Minnesota (historically the weakest of those four teams as an easy win just because it appears to be the easiest game left and it's at home.). But Wisconsin and Iowa, they have to think about a second. Group all three together and hope you win 1 of those three for a 2-2 record in this group.
Overall that would be 9-3 with a pretty hard ceiling.

Northwestern - W
North Dakota -W
Georgia southern W
Oklahoma - L
Indiana - W
Rutgers - L
Purdue - L
Illinois - W
Minnesota - L
Michigan - L
Wisconsin - W
Iowa - L

6-6 - I think they do better at home than in the past, but still lose to MN. They will be ranked in the top 25 heading to Rutgers, but never touch that again after that. The end the year getting beat bad by MN and MI, but finish strong with a win against WI (they are looking ahead to the showdown with us) and a solid loss to IA. This will get NE fans thinking they are top 10 next year.

I went 8-4, would love nothing better to see then go 4-8 however. They gotta get their shit together at some point dont they?

5-7, Frost is gone. All the scenarios posted apply in my mind too. They had chances to succeed last year but squandered them; I don't see how this year is any different, even with a new QB.

The Husker "love" affair with GH's is beyond barfing. So many here are obsessed with their outcome. Most want utter failure and want to see them continue to struggle. Everyone knows that the BIG has been too much for them to handle. Same with many other BIG basement dwellers.

But really, who cares? Me, no. Others likely.

You cared enough to post in this thread.

And yes there are a couple particular posters here who seem obsessed with Nebraska.

But....it's June - what the hell else is there to talk about in regards to Gopher football?

I'm going to post similar polls for other west teams.
Nebraska isn't special.

5 or 6 wins - but if they get hit with some key injuries, I could honestly see 4-8.

If you take away the name and the history, and you put them in generic uniforms, with the same roster and coaches, and the same recent results, you are talking about a middle of the pack MAC team.

The Nebraska program is like a rock band that keeps touring with no new material. it survives on nostalgia, even though the lead singer can't hit the high notes any more.

6-6. But they better beat North Dakota. Don't want the Big 10 to look bad even if it is Nebraska.

Keep on sucking nebby losers.

Only Nebraska gets better in the offseason. Much of Nebraska media has them pegged at minimum 7 wins. No shortage of 7-1 predictions to start the season.

Nebraska Tech will trip over frost when they trot out of the tunnel the first time. That will be the best tackle made all season and they lose every game.
I don't see a win on the schedule.....

They will have a 4 game winning streak coming into the Gopher game. Which will make our game even more difficult.

If they don't make a bowl again, I think they have to move on ...
