Hello Fellow Gopherholers,
I need your help. Gopher sports put out a call for military appreciation photos and the top 3 winners get tickets and recognition during the Penn State game. I entered my wife Lindsey into this competition because I feel she deserves a little recognition. She is currently an active duty Navy surgeon at Naval Medical Center San Deigo. She is from Burnsville and a true Gopher fan. She has been putting in up to 90 hours a week in training for the past 5 years with very little time off. Not only does she operate on the nations active duty, wounded warriors, and retirees, but she is also an active duty service member ready to deploy at a moments notice and has done a deployment to the south pacific for humanitarian aid providing life changing operations to some very needy individuals. She is a humble person and would never ask for any of this, but I am a proud husband and dang it I love her.
Please click on the link, view entries, and vote once per day for Lindsey from San Diego. The photo is of her in her uniform (scrubs) next to her mentor (an Iowa fan) after he lost a bet when we kept Floyd in MN last year.
This game also falls on her birthday weekend (Same day as the Marine Corps birthday) and I think a trip home would be very welcomed.

Wow I can't believe she is in second!! Thank you guys for the support and keep it going! This thread will inevitably get buried in the game day chatter, but I hope you all will continue to support her throughout the week as you can vote every day.
If she does win, I will be dropping some serious airfare on the credit card and packing up our 5 month old for her first flight/gopher game celebration. I hope we can make this happen and I will owe a debt of gratitude to you all for the support.

Darn somebody beat me too it but even better. I also have signed someone up..my grandpa a veteran of world war 2. This would be a once in a lifetime experience for him, and I would love to be able to do this for him. You can vote for multiple people daily so lets help out Lindsey and my grandpa. He is the photo labeled Kyle and he is wearing the very old navy hat and his family and him are below. Thanks everyone.

Thanks to all of the great support from my fellow Gopher Holers my lovely wife is in first place! But like the gophers with a 35-14 lead, we cannot let up and rest on our comfortable lead. Every play counts, every vote counts. IF this happens and we are able to fly home for this game and we are on the jumbotron I will give a tip of the cap in appreciation for all of you for your support. I promise to only be annoying about this until Wednesday : ) Ski U Mah and Go Gophers!!!

Calling all Gopher Holers:
There are four hours left in the Military Appreciation Photo contest and we need your help. Lindsey is 50 votes out of first and the third and fourth place are catching up. She is one heck of a woman being a Navy Officer, physician working 80+ hours a week, and wonderful mother to our 5 month old daughter. Thank you everyone! Lindsey ended up 3 votes away from first place (a 91 year old WWII pilot), but the top three win so we are flying home for the game!!!! I am so excited to experience this game with my wife and 5 month old daughter. It is going to be quite the Clark Griswold moment for sure.
