PJ has to be on the hot seat right ? (nevermind ive been told to accept being mediocre when were good enough to be mediocre)

And the Gophers got handled by 2-7 Purdue.

So, anyone. OK, sure, I'll buy that we still have a good chance at home against Wisc this year. The year has obviously gone down the toilet for both programs.

Year A:
-- one of the best years in Gopher football history
-- one of the best home wins of all time
-- beat a solid SEC team in a relevant bowl game, to finish 11-2
-- lose to both Iowa and Wisc, painfully, to not go to Indy as the West rep

Year B:
-- first time in how many years (decades?) that we win both the Pig & Axe in the same year
-- West is at an all-time low in how bad the teams are
-- barely manage to eke out 6-6 finish
-- no where near competitive to be the West rep in Indy

Same coach, four years apart.

This is not just a Minnesota thing. Look up pretty much any coach who has been at a school for 6+ years and you will see years where their team struggles and has a lower win total than the years before.

you don’t panic after one down year, if the down years become the norm then you panic.

The panic is associated with the offense and our HC's inability to embrace innovation, what's happening with the defense is not that abnormal for a down season.

Forget about innovation, we can’t complete passes.

My thing wasn’t anything to do with panic or even comparing 11-2 to 6-6 in of itself.

It’s that: of F’ing course, we can’t have it be that our best year is also the year that we beat Iowa & Wisc in the same year. No, no, no. That would be too much good in one year. We don’t get to have that.

If we’re going to beat them both in the same year, it’s to be a year where the wheels otherwise fall off. :ROFLMAO:

I used this as a teaching moment for my son. In the real world, if you perform this poorly at your job, you won’t keep your job. If you’re a football coach, you just have to give some empty platitudes and you will get a raise and extension
Helps to find jobs where your boss is inept, too.
