PJ Fleck Interview - Dec 1, 2019

What are you talking about? His 2019 recruiting class is Exclusively 2 and 3 star recruits. Currently ranked closed to Maryland and Rutgers at 10th in the Big 10. He hasn’t recruited anywhere close to the level of talent as Wisconsin, Michigan, or Ohio State.
Why are you talking about the 2019 class? That class was signed almost a year ago. The 2020 class, which is the actual topic at hand, has two 4-stars and no 2-stars. Swing and a miss.

The Gophers are ranked 9th — just behind Northwestern and behind all of our rivals — in the 2020 recruiting class. We have 2 four-star recruits? Big deal. Michigan has 12. Penn State has 9. Even Wisconsin, which will bring in 2/3 the recruits that we will, has more 4 star recruits than we do. And do you think our embarrassing showing for College Gameday will help Wisconsin’s recruiting or Fleck’s recruiting?

Your claim that Fleck will no longer accept coaching up 3-star recruits is based on feeling, not facts. He recruits on average ONE player a year that is not 2 or 3-star, and his recruiting remains far behind our rivals. Fleck has to do better recruiting — we won’t have the easiest Big 10 schedule again for a long time.

I claimed no such thing. You really suck at this. Try to keep up.

dpod is like a lawyer arguing a case in which he cannot argue the law or the facts so he pounds the table.

I am arguing the facts, tool. Point out anything I said that is wrong. You can't.

Look at the original post you’re defending. If your arguments were strong, you wouldn’t need to use childish insults.

No comment on Fleck’s below average 2020 recruiting class? After all, as you said, it’s to topic at hand.

Please point out where I'm defending any post whatsoever. I was calling out the falsehoods in your post. Again, you really suck at this.

I have long stated that Fleck's recruiting is solid, but not anywhere near as good as people want to pretend it is. It needs to be better, particularly in comparison to Big Ten West rivals. He's been averaging close to where Claeys' one class finished in 2016, and conventional (false) wisdom is that Claeys can't recruit. If you haven't seen me repeatedly making the points above, you haven't been paying attention.

Fleck gets “high” 3-star recruits now, dah.

Minnesota's 2019 recruiting class had 2 4-stars per Rivals and 3 4-stars per ESPN.
And 0 by 247.

So we’re using different metrics to define a 4 star recruit. But EVERY metric shows that Fleck’s recruiting classes are well below average in the Big 10 and below all of our rivals.
