The 2003 Gophers would have gone 7-0 in the 2010 Big East with several blow-outs. No doubt.
We would be TCU undefeated but not in the National Title game.

Wrong! They won their division not the Conf. UCONN gets the BCS bid.
True. But like UConn we'd be getting ready for a Fiesta Bowl Match-up with OU. Unlike UConn we might have a snowball's chance of winning. Most likely we'd get up 2-3 touchdowns and then...oh forget it.
Not wrong. There are no divisions in the big east. Three way tie with uconn and west Virginia, uconn wins the tie breaker
The gophers of 2003 would have gotten rolled by an Oklahoma team. They would not have gone unbeaten in the big east. The only team the gophers beat in 2003 that finished the regular season with a winning record was Tulsa.
Damn wiki! Well, we are both wrong. Pitt did not win the conference.
They would have gone undefeated in this year's Big East, IMO. There's no one they wouldn't be favored against, I'll tell you that much. OK, maybe they slip up and go 6-1, it doesn't really matter. And while I don't think they'd beat Oklahoma, they wouldn't get 'rolled'. This is hardly Oklahoma's best team and the Gophers finished in the top 15. Why would you say that?
Anyway the OP was trying to say Mason was inferior to Wanny because at least Wanny 'won' his conference this year, which is absurd. Mason had teams, most notably 2003, that were far superior.
Care to explain to me how I am wrong? Pitt will get to hang a conference championship banner.
The 2003 gophers beat no one. The 2003 gophers had no defense. They'd have lost to a good oklahoma defense 40something to 20something IMO that's getting rolled. The 2003 gophers played one team with a very good offense all year and they gave up 31 points in the 4th quarter. The 2003 gophers finished In a 3 way tie for 4th in the big ten. The 2003 gophers are very overrated in the minds of many gopher fans. They did not win a game against the top half of the conference. Had they missed playing Illinois and Indiana instead of purdue and Ohio state they would have been a 7-5 football team.

Fine you are right they get a BS championship banner even though they lost to both teams they were tied with. I bet the fans are thrilled. By the way ESPN is reporting that Dave is resigning so I guess he didn't get fired. Where do they hang that banner?
Probably in a similar location to where Ohio state (who is in a 3 way tie and has not beaten anyone they are tied with) will hang theirs
Where is that? I'm just wondering where football teams hang their banners. Anyways, Dave resigned so Pitt can't regret firing him.
He "resigned"
"Won the Conference title" All joking aside if you were fired why stay on in the athletic department?

He won the conference chanpionship. There is zero debate. They get a trophy and everything. There are people who wanted him out. He stays on with the athletic dept because he's a great guy, the bosses love him, and he loves the university. If it doesn't cone out that he resigned fir health reasons, it is pretty safe to assume that he faced pressure to resign.
He is an average coach also zero debate.
My mistake. Beating 5 loss Oregon was their best win, not 4 loss Tulsa or 6 loss wisconsin

Average coaches don't win conferences. Average coaches don't have 9 win seasons at Pitt. He is definitely not great, and on game day I may even pick Horton over him. But as far as building the pitt program, he has done an above average job at minimum.
Good coach that took the Brewster approach to figuring out what to do on defense (switch schemes and have no idea what kind of defense he wants to run).So he is not great but not average. What is he? Average coaches can easily have 9 wins and win the Big East. So what kind of coach is Rich Rod to you?

RichRod went 7-5 this year, and the team returns everyone.
Michigan would be making a huge mistake in firing him (unless they already have an elite guy locked up).
You used good coach and Brewster in the same sentence. I think a good coach doesn't make huge mistakes like that by that's just me. Good coaches don't cry while belting out Josh Groban songs.
The more I debate with you, the more I think you are about 12 years old.
Once he gets his defense figured out he will have a very good team.
The only question in my mind is if he is given enough time to get it figured out.
You don't have a season in which you are 1 score away from playing in the national championship if you are not a good coach.
You don't get the job at Michigan if you are not a good coach.
You don't beat Georgia in the Sugar Bowl if you are not a good coach.
Sorry, but you're the guy that keeps on with the lame argument. Larry Coker another great coach in your mind?
Where did I say great?
