Boykin said being a Heisman Trophy favorite has not impacted him. Last year, the Horned Frogs were coming off a 4-8 season, and there were questions about whether Boykin should be the starting quarterback.

"I've always had confidence in myself, so nothing has really changed for me," Boykin said.

TCU's last Heisman Trophy winner was Davey O'Brien in 1938.

"If I'm fortunate to bring the Heisman Trophy to Fort Worth, then I'll be happy, and I'm pretty sure the city of Fort Worth would be proud," Boykin said. "It hasn't been done here in a long time."

Gophers coach Jerry Kill understands the hype surrounding Boykin.

"Boykin is a guy that's got a very strong arm, and he can throw BBs out there," Kill said. "(He) gets the ball out quick, so he's hard to sack."
