PiPress: Q&A with Gophers defensive coordinator Tracy Claeys

Man, he doesn't sound like a a cliche-ridden coach. It is really going to be fun to see how this D reacts to some good coaching.

Nice interview, that is quite a number of dual threat QBs they will see this year. There's also a good picture of Stoudermire knocking the ball away from Iowa's Marvin McNutt in the paper itself.

The knee issue surrounding Mcknight that was mentioned in the article still worries me a lot, as does the KGM broken foot he suffered this summer that is apparently almost fully heeled. KGM looks like he could be a monster DE, and Mcknight is our only go to receiver. If any affects are still lingering for Dajon as we get into the season that could be a major, major issue.

Also, I found it interesting that he pretty much alluded to the fact that when it comes to recruiting players, they need to take chances on a lot of kids because they can't get the higher end guys they are going after.

"If we're not getting a pass rush up front, then you can't cover those guys forever. We have to be able to get the ball out. "

Compare that to watching us rush two against Philip Rivers and NC State.
