Ayinda played in seven games a a freshman but didn't record any stats.

Against Colorado State, Ayinde played alongside three experienced seniors in the defensive backfield: Briean Boddy-Calhoun, Eric Murray and fellow safety Antonio Johnson.

"It was surreal," Ayinde said. "It was fun being out there with those boys, all of those seniors. You know they are going to go hard for you, so I had to go hard."
