per Marcus' Q&A:
Q: How frustrating was it for you and your family to hear that news when your personal doctor had cleared you to play?
A: That part I really didn't understand. It was kind of like if my doctor knows me so well, then he would tell me awhile back maybe you should stop playing early. I just thought the whole process of me coming in that Monday, and moving in Saturday, was the most difficult thing for me. Kevin (Dorsey), Dupree (McBrayer) and myself were all communicating about what were going to be doing Saturday and working out, and then it was like ... plans change.
Q: Did you feel there was enough time for you decide to play somewhere else? How strongly did you consider it before starting classes?
A: I thought that at first, but at the end of the day, it was just Minnesota looking out for my health and education. Because you can't just go to another school, especially with this situation -- and who knows if they would put me on scholarship and still be letting me do whatever the team does? So it was almost lucky, to be completely honest.
Q: How long did it take you to decide you were still attending Minnesota?
A: I think it wasn't long after that. My dad texted me and asked me, "What do you think about all this?" That was the first time I actually thought about, well, if I do get cleared, whether it's now or later or next year, I'm willing to stay here until then, until I know what's for sure going to be going on ahead. That's where we're at right now.
