On Friday night, many fans in maroon and gold frolicked to and fro the many craft breweries that dot this city near the foothills of the Rocky Mountains.
The Gophers sold out its 2,700 ticket allotment for Saturday’s game against Colorado State, and no better way to spend the gorgeous eve of the game than on the breweries’ patios.
At Odell Brewery, one fan looked at a trellis that had hops growing on it and asked his buddies, “How many pull-ups do you think I can do on this?”
It was a joke, but not everyone was enjoying the large Minnesota contingent.
A bartender at Odell casually rolled his eyes at my Minnesota ID. “A lot of Gophers fans have been in here singing that prairie dog song,” he said.
