per Marcus:

Gophers cornerback Jalen Myrick joked after Saturday's 35-24 win over Middle Tennessee State that he and his teammates have to drink fewer energy drinks and more water to keep from having further cramping issues.

Starting cornerback Eric Murray and backup Marcus Jones had to go back to the locker room to get intravenous fluids. A few of the freshmen defensive linemen were out of gas in the fourth quarter.

"It was rough because some people started cramping," Myrick said. "That's just our preparation. We'll get better at that."

There was nothing funny about the situation from coach Jerry Kill's point of view.

"We had three or four defensive backs there in the third quarter who were out," Kill said. "We have to make sure we take care of that. Maybe call LeBron James. It's a concern, to be honest with you. You can't have your good players cramping up. It wasn't that hot."

Did the Gophers hire him after he got fired from that hardware store?

My favorite line of that story was the victim saying "I knew it!".
