In a first-person piece for Yahoo.com, Gophers coach P.J. Fleck shared how a photo of a few players at a party posted on social media led to a team meeting.

“One was holding an alcohol bottle, and the others had alcohol all around them,” Fleck told reporter Pete Thamel in a story posted Friday. “Our players put it out collectively and didn’t find anything wrong with it.”

In his first 10 months on the job, Fleck has worked to instill his culture at Minnesota in the wake of the sexual misconduct incident last fall and fallout last winter.

During the team meeting, Fleck posed a hypothetical: What if a picture of him and his wife, Heather, in a similar situation was shared on Twitter?

“One player mentioned I may get fired,” Fleck relayed to Yahoo.com. “One said it would be another black eye for the program. Some said it would make me look fake. Everyone agreed it wouldn’t validate what we do, or the culture we’re establishing here.”

The story also shared how Fleck is taking proactive measures to teach players life skills through the Gopher For Life program.

Go Gophers!!

Christ, is Minnesota so up tight that if a man and woman of legal drinking age are shown consuming alcohol Fleck could get fired? If that is the case, what coach would ever want to come here, except a crappy one?

Is prohibition back on or something?

Provided they're legal I'm not sure there is a problem.

He's putting having a beer with his spouse in the same category as Larry Eustachy firing down 15 Natural Lights and hugging co-eds.
